Key Accounts Executive

Responsibilities

  • Works on identified key clients, including big agency clients and direct clients with a sufficient portfolio of brands to offer significant growth potential
  • Takes over-all responsibility as Sales Executive to manage customer relationship and handle all business from client
  • Works according to stretch targets to achieve budgeted growth from each of the key clients
  • Delivery of Business Revenues and contribution per targets
  • Development and delivery of the maximum potential customer revenues
  • Retention of all customer annuity income
  • Maintenance of customer satisfaction levels
  • Improve and broaden customer relationships with the view to gaining the status of trusted advisor
  • Establishing the EAM offering as solution of choice

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • A bachelor’s degree qualification in Sales & Marketing with a minimum of 3 years sales experience
  • High level of organizational and effective time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
  • Have good people skills, the ability to network effectively and to build long term client relationships
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) and Internet.
  • The candidate must have his/her own reliable transport and a valid driver’s license.

Supplements Sales Executive

Responsibilities

  • Selling advertising opportunities to an existing and new client base with emphasis on selling supplements within the life-style channel
  • Analyze client activities
  • Acquire product knowledge
  • Visit agencies/clients and establish needs
  • Develop and prepare sales plan
  • Do presentations to clients/agencies
  • Identify new sales opportunities
  • To provide ongoing service to agencies and clients in support of the sales function
  • Ensure all artworks supplied are correct
  • Follow up with Graphic designers on artworks
  • Handling of administrative tasks regarding own sales activities
  • Keep ledger at acceptable levels
  • Provide accurate feedback on daily sales activities at weekly sales meetings

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • A bachelor’s degree qualification in Sales & Marketing with a minimum of 3 years sales experience

Sub-Editor

Responsibilities

  • Edit, sub-edit and proof-read copy for the magazine, its various supplements and special projects
  • Ensure the style is a perfect fit for the publication’s target market
  • Make a fresh and creative contribution to the content and its presentation
  • Write and rewrite stories for use in magazines
  • Transform content to become informative, inspirational and entertaining
  • Make quick, rational, informed decisions on copy

Qualifications , skills & experience

  • A minimum of five years’ relevant work experience, preferably in a magazine publishing environment
  • At least a bachelor’s degree – postgraduate diploma an added advantage (though not a requirement)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and mastery of MS Word
  • A good command of the English language
  • Work under pressure, consistently and meet deadlines without supervision

Writer
Job Ref:

Responsibilities

  • Executing fresh assignments related to current affairs and social issues, as well as interviews and features that appeal to the readers.
  • Producing topical, thoroughly researched and well- constructed stories and features for print
  • Re-writing, adapting and editing existing material to make it suitable for and relevant to the target market
  • Providing editorial and logistical support to ensure that editorial standards and deadlines are met for individual titles
  • Developing a knowledge base and a database of contacts through continuous networking
  • Keeping abreast of news, current affairs, business, technology and other social trends in the region and beyond covering a broad scope of topics; and generating fresh content ideas individually or with the rest of the team
  • Production & operational support to the editorial team

Qualifications , skills & experience

  • A degree in journalism or similar qualification;
  • At least 3 -5 years editorial experience, with the emphasis on news reporting, feature writing and editing
  • Must have a track record of generating story ideas on his/her own within a team environment
  • Possess excellent English language skills, both written and oral and in particular, be a concise and clear communicator with diverse audiences and target groups; and
  • A good knowledge of issues relating to the East African community
  • Should possess good time management skills, self-motivation, versatility and problem-solving skills
