Coffee Research Foundation is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture. The Foundation invites applications from qualified persons for the following position:
Deputy Director of Research – DDR/2010
The Deputy Director of Research is the Research Manager and principal assistant to the Director of Research.
Responsibility
He/she shall be responsible for, and undertake the following duties under the Director of Research:
- Carry out and co-ordinate high-level research in his/her area of specialization
- Assist the Director of Research with research planning, evaluation of research programmes, provision of research facilities and scientific publications in line with the Foundation’s strategy.
- Assist with the implementation of research programmes
- Design, implement, monitor and evaluate research programmes in line with the Foundation’s mandate, vision and mission.
Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of PhD qualification in Agricultural Sciences
- Must have served at Senior Research Scientist level or higher
- Have at least ten (10) years of proven experience, continuous research record backed with publications and a good grasp and knowledge of his/her area of specialization
- Have a broad knowledge of policy issues related to the agricultural sector
- Have good communication skills and ability to develop and promote team spirit
- The applicant will have demonstrated managerial ability, professional competence and integrity
- Must be computer literate
- Must be Kenyan
