Coptic Hospital is a project of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Kenya that provides medical care at subsidized prices as well as free comprehensive care and treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS under the Hope Center for infectious diseases, as well as a treatment and literacy program .

We are seeking qualified candidates for the following positions based in Nairobi;

1. M & E Officer

Position Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for designing and implementing a monitoring and internal evaluation system for all Coptic Hospital and Coptic Hope Centre for infectious diseases projects, in order to improve information tracking systems, implementation procedures, as well as quality of implemented projects.

The M&E Officer will closely work with the Programme Director on program planning and design; and will be responsible for developing a performance monitoring system for all projects and developing internal evaluation tools; and providing training to all project staff in specific M&E tools and methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure consistency and quality program monitoring and implementation for all projects.
• Work closely with the Program Managers in designing and facilitating needs assessments and other pre-program data collection activities, as well as assist the program staff in interpreting and analyzing collected data.
• Assess existing data collection tools, assist in their modification as necessary, and develop new data collection tools.
• Assist program staff in reviewing/analyzing/summarizing data for monthly, quarterly, mid-year, and final reports to donors.
• Develop a plan for internal evaluation for all projects, design tools, facilitate the implementation, and assist program staff in analyzing collected data.
• Assist Programme Director with budget interpretation, planning and preparation where necessary.
• Support the implementation of other planned activities to enhance the project.
• Responsible for development and production of project’s database and audio-visual materials
Requirements
• A reputable first degree in statistics, computer science, epidemiology, or related field, demonstrated knowledge of evaluation designs for HIV/AIDS programs or advanced training in design, monitoring, and evaluation of HIV/AIDS programs.
• At least 5 years experience in M & E in the field of HIV/AIDS with knowledge of SPSS, Stata, Excel, Access and/or other database and spreadsheet applications.
• Demonstrated ability to apply evaluation data into program activities.
• Experience with PEPFAR and MoH reporting systems required

2. Project Manager for the HIV/AIDS Treatment and Literacy Program

Position Summary:

The incumbent will oversee the management of the treatment and literacy campaign personnel, administration and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall planning of the project activities and development of work plans to enhance implementation
• Develop and implement HIV/AIDS related training materials for the literacy campaign
• Assist the development of the programmes networks and the building of strategic partnerships.
• Assist in all planning processes of the project, including the development of tools to monitor progress and evaluate impact of activities for effective implementation.
• Work as a team to plan and design participatory information
• Education and communication (IEC) activities with project beneficiaries using a range of media and tools
• Responsible for organizing community events, facilitating and mobilizations
• Encourage and Promote VCT in target areas
• Maintain standards of operations within policies put in place.
• Supervise personnel to ensure attendance and fulfillment of duties.
• Conduct field visit to program areas
• Liaise with the HR manager on the recruitment of supervisors and volunteers
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual report for donors as well as write proposals

Requirements

• Degree in Social Sciences or related field, demonstrated knowledge of HIV/AIDS community outreach and mobilization, at least 3 years experience in the field of HIV/AIDS communications and/or program management, multi-country experience added advantage and fully computer literate.
• Strong writing experience and strong communication skills required.
