Civil Works Manager
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, key responsibilities will include:
- To provide Railway Civil Engineering expertise in inspection, repair, maintenance and up-grading of the railway line between Magadi and Konza to ensure high safety standards and availability. The infrastructure includes 146 kilometres of running line, train crossing loops, train marshaling yards at Magadi and Kajiado, culverts, bridges and viaducts.
- Overall responsibility for management and supervision of all civil works undertaken by Magadi Soda Company, including road maintenance, water supply, sanitation and community CSR projects.
- Project management including supervision of third party Civil contractors.
- Monitoring and control of fixed costs and capital expenditure
- Responsible for retaining and developing talent of supports through continuous performance appraisal and feedback.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 7 year’s experience.
- Registration by The Engineers Registration Board, training in safety and/or Membership of a Professional body will be an added advantage.
- Experience in railway track design/construction/maintenance would be a distinct advantage
- Experience in management of contracts.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
