Coastal Rural Support Programme, Kenya (CRSP (K)) is a project of the Aga Khan Foundation. The goal of the programme is to contribute to sustainable and equitable improvement in the livelihood of poor households in Kinango, Kaloleni and Kilifi districts.

The Programme invites applications for the following positions:

Environmental Management Project Officer

Reporting to the Programme Director, the person will provide strategic and technical leadership in the environment sub-sector of the programme.

The person shall co-ordinate, monitor and supervise all the sub-sector interventions in line with the overall programme strategy.

Specifically, the person is expected to perform the following principal duties:

  • Responsible for environment sub-sector annual, quarterly and monthly planning and respective budgets
  • Developing and implementation of environment sub-sector strategy.
  • Coordinating overall implementation of activities for environment sub-sector and ensure technical quality control.
  • Preparation of sector level monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports
  • Support management in fund raising through proposal development.
  • Networking with government and other stakeholders in implementation of environment activities
  • Undertake any other duty assigned by programme Director or supervisor

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A university degree in Forestry, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science or a related degree ( Masters degree will be an advantage)
  • Five years work experience in dry land forestry and/ or tree enterprises for multiple purposes
  • Proven project management experience and ability to prepare quality proposals and reports Ability to meet project deadlines, often under pressure.
  • Proven ability to lead and work as part of an inter-disciplinary team
  • Willingness to work and stay in a rural environment.
  • Motorcycle riding skills.

Field Officer - Pro-Poor Integrity Project (Re-advertisement)

Under its Civil Society Programme (CSP), CRSP(K) is working in collaboration with TIRI to implement the Pro-Poor Integrity Project.

Reporting to the CSP Project Officer, the Field Officer will work closely with communities and other stakeholders to achieve the goal of the project which is to strengthen the capacities of the local civil society to gain sufficient and legitimate leverage on local state institutions to positively impact on the achievement of Millennium Development Goals within their communities.

Qualifications:

The ideal person should possess the following minimum qualifications:-

  • A degree in Community Development; Political Science; Sociology or any other social science.
  • Minimum of five years experience in community development/advocacy in NGO/Civil Society Organisation
  • Good command of English and Kiswahili. Knowledge of the Mijikenda languages will be an advantage.
  • Computer literacy especially in MS Office suite. Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills.
  • Good knowledge and experience in working with rural communities. Working knowledge of the three districts is a distinct advantage.
  • Holder of a valid riding/driving license 'Class G' over three years old.
