IT Support Assistant Job in Kenya

Summary of Role

We are looking for a technical implementation role, consisting of mainly co-designing, implementing and maintaining IT hardware and software, supporting operations to achieve data integrity all throughout the company. 

Specific Responsibilities

  • ERPNext Software
  • Assist CoS in defining requirements for the individual departmental modules
    • Integration of the financial/accounting module with external payment solutions 
    • Collaborate with the financial controller to set up reports in the ERP
    • Long-term responsibility of adjusting the modules to changing business requirements with support of the 3rd party implementer
    • Support the CoS in training TTS employees in the correct usage of the ERP
  • Raspberry pi`s & scale digitization
    • Support the CoS in managing the 3rd party implementation team for delivery of end-to-end integration of scales across various locations
  • Testing & troubleshooting
    • Collaborate with TTS electricians for the upkeep/maintenance of the devices    
  • CCTV security
  • Propose CCTV locations & camera requirements in collaboration with the head of security
    • Support 3rd party provider in selecting the ideal hardware
    • Lead the TTS team of electricians/fundis to install the hardware
    • Set-up a local CCTV monitoring room whilst providing suggestions on how to do so most effectively
    • Collaborate with TTS electricians for the upkeep/maintenance of the devices

  • Biometric access control
    • Support 3rd party provider in selecting the ideal hardware
    • Support CoS in registering all TTS employees
    • Lead the TTS team of electricians/fundis to install the hardware
    • Testing & troubleshooting
    • Collaborate with TTS electricians for the upkeep/maintenance of the devices    
  • Starlink
    • Manage/Lead the installation
    • Set-up of data connectivity restrictions
    • Collaborate with TTS electricians for the upkeep/maintenance of the devices
  • Hardware repairs
    • Diagnose, recommend and when possible, implement the repairs of company phones, tablets and laptops in collaboration with TTS electricians
    • Collaborate with procurement to facilitate the above in a cost-efficient manner
  • IT Account management
    • Set-up, maintenance and trouble-shooting for all company email and ERP accounts
    • Set-up, maintenance and trouble-shooting for internal logistics software.
    • Other suggestions/initiatives to improve data security via software solutions as needed​​​​

  • Diploma in Information Technology/Software or Electrical engineering 
  • Prior experience in the following areas is a benefit
    • ERPNext Frappe Framework
    • Raspberry pi`s & scale digitization
    • CCTV security
    • Biometric access control
    • Starlink
    • Hardware repairs 
    • IT account management
    • Complex thinking, understanding the interconnections of a digitalized industrial process
  • Highly-proactive communication and organizational skills 
  • `Get things done` mentality, always on the lookout on how processes can be optimized
