Human Resource Officer Job in Kenya

Position Summary

The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for building and implementing HR functions to support the strategic objectives of Ubuntu Life. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in HR management, with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities: –

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:

Lead the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for various positions within the organization.

Develop job descriptions, job postings, and recruitment strategies to attract top talent.

Collaborate with hiring managers to assess staffing needs and identify key competencies for each role.

Employee Relations and Engagement:


Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related matters.

Address employee concerns and grievances in a fair and timely manner, fostering a positive work environment.

Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and retention.

HR Administration and Compliance:

Oversee HR administrative functions, including maintaining employee records, processing payroll, and managing benefits administration.

Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Stay updated on changes in employment legislation and proactively implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

Training and Development:

Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies.

Coordinate training sessions and workshops, both internally and externally, to support employee development.

Track training effectiveness and evaluate the impact on organizational performance.

Performance Management:

Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions.

Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance improvement plans and career development opportunities.

Ensure that performance management practices are fair, transparent, and aligned with organizational goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field.

Five years or more of progressive HR experience, with a focus on HR functions in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and regulations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence others.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Proficiency in HR management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement solutions.

HR certification is preferred but not compulsory.
