QUALITATIVE METHODS RESEARCH INTERN – 3 POSITIONS – 15 MONTHS
The following will be their roles:
Shadow Project Manager, community engagement
lead
Attend training events (capacity strengthening)
Assist in data analyses.
Assist in the preparation of draft manuscripts.
Interview mothers, transcribe data; translate data
and code interviews.
Learn how to analyse behavioural data using NVIVO 12
Must be willing to be trained to learn how to conduct
systematic reviews.
Must live in Kilifi or Mombasa
Attend meetings with PI/Kenya for mentoring.
Requirement for Appointment:
First degree in health or related area.
Basic understanding of qualitative research methods
(e.g., interviews, focus groups, participant observation).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint). iv. Familiar with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo,
Atlas.ti) is an advantage
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prepare clear and concise research reports
and presentations.
Strong analytical thinking and attentive to detail.
Ability to critically evaluate and interpret qualitative data.
High ethical standards and respect for
confidentiality and research ethics.
Must have good interpersonal skills to interact with
research participants and team members.
Self-motivated and proactive in managing time and
tasks effectively.
Easily adaptable to the changing project needs and
flexible to handle a variety of research tasks.
Willing to learn new research techniques and methods.
