Underwriting Officer Job in Kenya

Responsibilities

Manage all underwriting and operations functions for our customers to ensure correct pricing & appropriateness in adherence to company policies

Development of products in conjunction with the customers and underwriters ensuring that the risks are adequately covered and that the company is sufficiently positioned to earn from the revenue generated from the product sales.

Ensure process improvement through the development and review of new/current processes, procedures and deployment of new technology that improves the efficiency of Insurance operations and/or the company as a whole.

Build and maintain collaborative and strategic relationships with relevant people in the industry, customers, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of business solutions.

Champion the delivery of excellent customer service and utilise customer feedback to evaluate operational success and initiate process or service improvements

Prepare risk notes, debits notes and credits notes in a timely manner

Client relationship management, including visitations and training


Balance business mix in both product and insurance companies

Generate new business through marketing activities and increase company visibility

 Qualifications & Skills

University degree (Preference given to a Business related degree or B.Com Insurance)

Diploma in Insurance Management and/or other insurance qualifications

Member of a professional insurance body i.e. Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Insurance Institute of Kenya, etc

At least 4 years of proven experience in a similar role

Proven experience in leadership

Report writing, negotiation, analytical, presentation and decision-making skills.
