Duties and Responsibilities
Driving a Motor vehicle as authorized
Carrying Routine checks on the vehicles cooling, oil,
electrical and brakes system, tyre pressure, etc
Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicles
system.
Maintenance of work tickets for the vehicle assigned
Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Be a Kenyan citizen
A Valid driving licence free from any current
endorsement for class (es) of vehicle(s) and officer is required to drive.
Attended a First Aid Certificate course lasting not
less than one week at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and
Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution
Defensive driving Certificate from the Automobile
Association (AA)of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized
institution.
Attended a refresher course for drivers lasting not
less than one (1) week within every three (3) years at Kenya Institute of
Highway and Building Technology or any other recognized institution.
