Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the hospital Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) strategy.
  • Streamline and strategize technology-related plans in aid of the hospital’s overall development.
  • Build infrastructure that extends digital innovations to traditional services and products across the hospital.
  • Creating and implementing IT policies, protocols and standards.
  • Organize and coordinate all Information Services through appropriate delegation, accountability, and effective performance management.
  • Develop and enforce Management of Information (MOI) policies and procedures and ensure ongoing compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and best practice standards.
  • Facilitate beneficial and cordial relationship(s) between the hospital and critical stakeholders in line with position responsibilities, including but not limited to outsourced services, suppliers, insurance companies, customers, external practitioners, and staff in collaboration with other service leaders.
  • Guide effective selection, customization, application, management, and improvement of information and technology solutions in line with the hospital’s strategic goals and in consultation with the hospital leadership and users.

  • Oversee the efficient and effective deployment and integration of Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS) including but not limited to clinical management and electronic patient records solution(s), client facing solution(s), enterprise resource planning (ERP) system(s), quality management information system(s), inventory management information solution(s), laboratory management information system(s), radiology management information system(s), e-learning solution(s).
  • Oversee the management of patient data to ensure security and integrity of patient data and in compliance with legal, regulatory, and hospital policy requirements.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  • Degree in Information Management.
  • Ten (10) years’ relevant work experience, three, (3) of which must be in a senior management role.
  • Possession of relevant Microsoft Certifications will be an added advantage.
  • A member of a professional IT body
  • Ability to work independently and to use initiative and independent judgment.
  • Proven leadership, planning, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
