Technical Operations Manager
Gross Salary: 550k – 650k.
Our client is a Start-up
in the ISP space in Kenya and they are looking to hire a Technical Operations
Manager who will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technical aspects of
their operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of
Internet infrastructure, network management, and technical support, with a
focus on ensuring the services are delivered with the highest level of
reliability and customer satisfaction. This role offers an exciting opportunity

Responsibilities:
- Monitor network performance and proactively address issues to
minimize downtime and ensure optimal service delivery.
- Manage relationships, work scope and performance of 3rd party
contractors across the country, and with multiple contractors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy
new network solutions to meet customer demands.
- Lead a team of technical support specialists to provide
top-notch customer support and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for
technical support processes.
- Work closely with customer support teams to ensure effective
communication and timely issue resolution.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize our infrastructure to
enhance service quality while controlling costs.
- Implement best practices for capacity planning, resource
utilization, and disaster recovery.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to
drive innovation.
- Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors,
negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
- Monitor vendor performance and evaluate their products for
potential enhancements to our infrastructure.
- Recruit, train, and mentor technical operations staff to
maintain a high-performing team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
within the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Must have 7+ proven experience in ISP, technical operations,
network management, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security, and
infrastructure management.
- Well- developed IT and Technical aptitude, with an
understanding of service delivery process.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make
critical decisions under pressure.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools and technologies
used in Internet service provision.
