Job Title: Community Health Oral Officer,

Jocham Hospital is looking
to hire a competent Community Health Oral Officer for its new upcoming facility.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the treatment room for patients
by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Screen patients, review each patient’s
oral health history and teach appropriate brushing and flossing
techniques.
- welcome, comfort and drape patients.
- Perform oral examinations, charting,
cleaning of teeth and polishing.
- Perform simple extractions, place
fissure sealants, apply topical fluorides and temporary fillings.
- Use the dental X-ray machine to take
dental radiographs and develop the film for the dentist’s analysis.
- Review pre-operative settings and make
sure that the dentist has what is required to carry out dental procedures;
i.e. provide necessary help to the dentist, including mixing materials,
trimming, and polishing dental casts.
- Implement and adhere to infection
prevention protocols including autoclaving instruments after use, cleaning
the dental procedures’ space and storage of the clean instruments.
- Maintain a record of day-to-day
activities of the dental unit and prepare regular reports as needed.
- manage equipment inventory and supplies
at the dental unit. This will include preparing orders as needed to avoid
stock outs.
Minimum Qualifications
and Experience
- Diploma in Community Oral Health from Kenya Medical Training
College or an equivalent recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years working experience as a Community Oral Health
Officer in a reputable health facility an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Computer skills
- Registered as a Community Oral Health
Officer with the regulatory body.
- Valid current Practicing License.
