Consultant Neurologist
Vacancy No: AKHK/MD/CN/09/23
Overall Responsibilities: To provide quality Neurology services to both
outpatients and inpatients.
He/she will be expected to be
an active member of the health care team in the hospital and to contribute to
the continuing professional development programmes of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise neurology diagnostic procedures,
including lumbar puncture and direct fundoscopy.
- Interpret and conduct nerve conduction studies (NCS) and
needle electromyography (EMG).
- Interpret evoked potentials, EEG (electroencephalogram)
recordings, including prolonged video EEG monitoring, and possess
proficiency in polysomnography interpretation skills.
- Provide preliminary interpretations of neuroimaging scans for
common neurological conditions, particularly in emergency situations.
- Lead efforts to enhance Neurology services within the
hospital and its outreach centers.
- Engage in teaching and mentoring of junior Doctors.
Requirements
- Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from a recognized
university
- Fellowship in Neurology with interest and expertise in
comprehensive modern epilepsy management
- The successful candidate will be required to provide a lead
in neurology services and collaborations in research.
