Branch Manager
The
Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the
branch, including the development of business plans, achievement of sales
goals, delivery of excellent customer service, revenue increase through lending
activities, and management of Collections in the branch
Key Responsibilities
Branch Management
Identify
and implement action plans and regularly track and review performance to ensure
the achievement of set targets.
Achieve
monthly targets set for the branch.
Lead
and manage collections to ensure PAR (Portfolio at Risk) is maintained within
acceptable levels.
Lead
and direct the development and implementation of the branch’s strategic plan
and budgets.
Prepare
and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to management.
Ensure
client files are in safe custody and maintain safe custody of branch assets.
Supervise
activities in the branch to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the
laid-down procedures and policies.
Relationship Management
Meet
regularly with branch customers, including important/high net worth customers,
to assist in business growth.
Promote
a high level of customer service culture among branch staff for potential
acquisitions.
Maintain
sound relationships with all new clients and existing clients to increase
retention rate.
Marketing and Disbursement
Achieve
loan disbursement targets set for the branch.
Proactively
market and generate business through individual client recruitment on
disbursement.
Stimulate
branch growth through the marketing of the institution’s products and
recruitment of new clients. Cross-sell all products and services to both
existing and potential clients.
Ensure
all data is properly keyed into the system on time.
Monitor
loan approvals and the loan status of the branch, including disbursements,
repayments, and appraisals.
Responsible
for loan appraisals and recommendations as per policy.
Risk Management:
Manage
delinquency to maintain portfolio quality at acceptable levels. Monitor
portfolio quality daily and proactively institute remedial actions.
Oversee
the credit risk framework, implement credit strategies, policies, and
procedures in line with the institution’s corporate strategy and ensure
compliance.
Maintain
a high-quality portfolio by ensuring on-time loan payments and being
zero-tolerant to arrears.
Human Capital
Responsible
for recruiting branch staff in liaison with the HR department.
Ensure
that staff members in the branch are acquainted with and adhere to the company
policies and procedures.
Lead
the branch to high-performance standards through proper supervision of staff
and maintenance of a healthy loan portfolio.
Legal Issues
Support
handling legal matters that arise in the course of work, as the case may be.
Attend
court sessions and organize witnesses.
Any
other duty assigned to you by Management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s
Degree in any field.
5
years of experience in a similar role within the financial services sector.
Strong
numerical aptitude, capable of working with data, conducting analysis, and
effectively communicating results.
Exceptional
analytical skills, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative abilities.
Preferred
experience in a commercial debt recovery environment.
Proficiency
in IT skills and essential knowledge.
Sound
judgment to balance commercial debt recovery and compliance risks, aiming for
positive outcomes.
Demonstrates
the highest professional standards.
Exceptional
interpersonal skills, fostering supportive relationships throughout the
organization.
Outstanding
communication and leadership skills with the capacity to influence at all
levels.
