Head Of Technology Solutions Delivery
Brief
Description
To lead the Technology
Solutions Delivery team that comprises of Technology Project Management Office,
Technology Business Analysis and Technology Enterprise Architecture functions
in working with the business users in successfully implementing Technology
business systems from project inception to delivery within stipulated deadlines.
To Monitor the
effectiveness of business systems and adapt them to evolving and changing
environments and to drive delivery of large and complex business-critical
technology solutions within stipulated timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Projects Delivery
- Ensure that projects deliver the as-designed solution,
remain within a baselined budget, and are delivered on time while
achieving quality criteria and meeting defined business requirements.
- Manage business system implementation projects from inception
through delivery and continue to perform post-implementation audits. This
includes rigorous project scope control and management of change
variations.
- Ensure that business system implementation meets set business
objectives, brings about desired improvements in the target business area,
and is delivered within time and budget allocations and expected quality.
- Manage external project resources and vendors to ensure that
all project needs, milestones, and timeframes will be met.
- Manage the inter-departmental client relationship, drawing on
resources throughout the company to deliver on business needs through a
coordinated development of related systems.
- Provide users with guidelines in both emerging
technologies as well as application of best practice implementation and
usage to ensure that they use technology in the best way possible.
- Ensure project set-up, resource allocation, planning, and
operations are efficiently managed.
- Assist the business in the identification of business process
improvement initiatives while maintaining focus on effective project
delivery.
Stakeholder & Vendor
Management
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders regarding the
status of their projects highlighting any risks and setting realistic
expectations.
- Be an integral part of the strategic development process and
keep the Chief Information and data Officer fully briefed on all upcoming
operational process requirements/changes.
- Manage the inter-departmental client relationship, drawing on
resources throughout the company to deliver on business needs through a
coordinated development of related systems.
- Manage business users’ satisfaction, commitment, and
expectations to high service levels as well as the effective management of
both internal and external escalations.
- Act as the single point of contact between senior management
and project teams during project implementation, whilst taking
accountabilities for all escalations relating to technology projects.
Processes, Procedures, and
Performance Management
- Design and document various standards, policies, and
procedures to govern the delivery of company-wide projects.
- Assist the Chief Information and Data Officer in coordinating
Technology Governance Steering Committee (TGSC), and any other assigned
technology governance frameworks.
- Oversee the functions of the Enterprise Architecture Board
(EAB) to ensure it delivers on its mandate.
- Ensure operational efficiency through the development and
implementation of sound, high-quality standard and service optimization
processes. This includes defining, implementing, and measuring the
effectiveness of sectional operational policies and processes aimed at the
successful delivery of projects.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting with respect to key
performance metrics and recommendations to improve speed in the delivery
of solutions.
People
- Accountable for sectional planning, people development,
capability, and resourcing through effective leadership and management.
- Work with section managers to identify and ensure adequate
availability of fit for purpose, skilled resources, able to deliver
against set departmental and company goals/objectives.
- Perform Training Needs Analysis, coaching, and mentorship of
teams.
- Develop and motivate an innovative and inspired team and
re-evaluate their skills and progress to ensure delivery of KRAs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, ICT, or a related
field.
- Must possess either ITIL, CBAP, or COBIT5 Certification
- Project Management Certification e.g. PRINCE 2, PRINCE
2 Agile, or PMP
- IT Business Support product certification
- Membership in a relevant IT professional body
- IT Security Certification is an added advantage.
Minimum Years of
Experience
- 10 years experience as a leader in Technology; with at least
5 years in Project Management in a similarly sized organization
- At least 10 years of overall IT management experience
- At least 5 years as a leader in technology solutions
delivery and Project Management.
- Demonstrate capability in leading teams in business
requirement analysis and solutions delivery – from conception to
operationalization.
- Demonstrate capability in leading multifunctional teams to
drive requirement analysis, project management, and solutions
architectures.
- Relevant Business Analysis skills, training, and experience
- Service delivery and support skills
- Expertise in other technology areas such as DevSecOps,
Technology Security & Risk, and infrastructure management – added
advantage.
- Demonstrated success in budget and financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage
high-performance technology teams.
- Ability to champion solutions with high payback potential •
Experience in customer relationship management
- Superior team leadership, team and cooperation skills with
the ability to influence positively and champion high performance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal & analytical
