Job Description

AMI is looking for a driven and experienced Impact Communications Specialist who will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that showcases and strongly communicates our organization’s impact. This is a great opportunity for a passionate writer with proven experience in creating professional written content across different mediums.

The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager, Marketing & Communications as part of a dynamic international team.


·         Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that showcases the impact of our organization’s programs and initiatives including individual impact stories, case studies, thought leadership blogs, social media content and other communications as required for the CALA and Impact Marketing teams 

·         Work collaboratively with Marketing & Communications Project Manager to deliver social media, marketing materials and communications campaigns related to programmes and partnerships marketing

·         Ensure that partner programmes and partnership clients marketing and communications needs are being met by the group marketing teams

·         Work across the company departments and geographic offices to develop content, relevant materials and media outreach to support key programme sourcing and implementation

·         Ensure that all communications align with our organization’s branding and messaging guidelines.

·         Monitor and analyze communications metrics to measure the effectiveness of our communications efforts and identify areas for improvement.

·         Provide copy writing and editing of AMI marketing and communication material

·         Creating and maintaining all project management documentation and oversight strategies

·         Defining, documenting, and managing the project scope and deliverables

·         Secure buy-in, feedback and approvals on all project deliverables from all stakeholders.

·         Establishing strategies to proactively and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to share project status updates, progress reports, project risks, and adequate escalation of issues/risks as needed

·         Facilitating the resolution of bottlenecks within project teams as they arise

·         Coordinate with internal team and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects on time, on budget and within scope

Qualifications & Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

·         At least 6 years’ experience in communications or a related field, with a strong writing background.

·         Ability to write compelling impact stories across different mediums, with a strong individual narrative focus.

·         Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to write for a variety of audiences and platforms.

·         Experience writing social media content that engages audiences and drives action.

·         Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

·         Strong analytical skills, with the ability to monitor and analyze communications metrics to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
