ICT Officer
Background
SoCha is contracted to deliver the USAID/Kenya
and East Africa (KEA) Localization, Inclusion and Sustainability Activity
(LISA) with the aim to assist staff and stakeholders to be more efficient,
effective, transparent, inclusive, and skilled in achieving development
outcomes.
The LISA team will support USAID’s work to
increase locally led, owned, and managed development outcomes. It will utilize
local expertise and seek to partner with local entities with in-depth knowledge
and networks in Kenya and utilize this expertise strategically. Utilization of
local expertise will focus on work objectives entailing close collaboration and
interaction with local actors, including local indigenous organizations,
counties, companies, institutions, and government.
To support the work of LISA, SoCha is seeking
a qualified ICT Officer.
Scope of Work
The IT Specialist position will report to the
ICT Manager and will be responsible for the Support of IT functions for the
project.
Responsibilities
- Provide IT support for onsite and
virtual events, including setup, configuration, and audiovisual equipment
and software troubleshooting.
- Assist with coordinating and
supporting onsite and virtual meetings, including troubleshooting
technical issues and providing technical support to remote participants.
- Troubleshoot and resolve
technical problems with various devices, including desktops, laptops,
mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Manage and maintain the IT
inventory for the project and collaborate with the IT Support Manager to
ensure IT infrastructure is secure and compliant with organizational
policies and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the
organization’s backup and disaster recovery systems.
- Deliver high-level support
services, resolving IT-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Maintain a high level of support service,
ensuring IT-requests are resolved promptly and effectively, and escalate
issues to the IT Support Manager when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in
relevant field;
- Minimum of 3 years of ICT work
experience;
- Minimum of 1 year of work
experience with USAID or on USAID-funded activities in an ICT position ;
- Strong communication skills;
- Professional proficiency in
English;
- Experience with PA systems and
integration for hybrid events;
- Possess experience in ICT support
for events, hybrid event technology integrations, and effective
presentation skills.
