Hotel Manager Job in Kenya

Fahari Hotel seeking to hire an experienced Hotel Manager, to oversee all aspects of the operation of the Hotel to secure maximum in revenues and guest satisfaction while positioning the Hotel in a recognizable position in the marketplace. This is to be accomplished through training, yield management, and the implementation of service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide leadership and direction to the Food and Beverage department by coordinating the activities of the restaurant, kitchen operations, MICE, and Staff.
  • To oversee, plan, control, evaluate, and organize the activities of the hotel respecting the hotel’s food dining concept, and ensuring a standardized way of welcoming and serving guests.
  • Set departmental targets and financial goals working with an allocated budget for growth and sustainability.
  • Carry out a SWOT analysis of the hotel’s product and present an analysis from it determining what needs improvement, improvising, and growth from the analysis.
  • Establish and maintain cordial relationships with hotel members by providing and ensuring the highest quality in service standards in the hotel to attract and retain guests’ patronage. 

  • Prepare and submit reports to the Management Committee of the Hotel monthly. 
  • Live on Hotel’s premises and be on call 24 hours a day to resolve problems or emergencies 
  • Work with the Human Resources office on training needs, recruitment needs, staff discipline, and hiring of qualified staff.
  • Develop and implement a HACCP manual for hygiene and safety in the Food production department. 
  • Direct investigations into causes of customer complaints and report to the Management Committee, if necessary 
  • Approve requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within the limits of the budget.
  • Act as a representative before government commissions or regulatory bodies during the review of policies or procedures.
  • Conduct performance appraisal/review for staff members under your supervision 
  • Responsible for informing new members of the Hotel’s rules and regulations 

Key Qualifications. 

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management.
  • Prior experience in a Managerial/Supervisory role in a Hotel Industry is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the hospitality industry, 
  • Experience in the fine dining industry 
  • Proven food and beverage management experience
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Mastery in delegating multiple tasks
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices
  • Ability to manage personnel and meet financial targets
  • Guest-oriented and service-minded
