Communications Coordinator
Job Description
We are looking for an outstanding communications all-rounder, who
has demonstrable experience of setting up the comms function for new campaigns
who can take on the communication management of these two campaigns until the
end of 2023.
As the Communications Coordinator for these
two campaigns you will work in a reactive, and adaptable manner and oversee,
drive and deliver remarkable communications activity that drives impact. This
is a role which needs a true self starter, who can work well with others and
requires someone happy with strategy planning and implementation – you will
enjoy being hands on and working at pace. This is a great opportunity to build
something from the ground up and deliver significant impact through
communications.
You will work closely with Campaign leads
from both AUDRi and the Global Campaign for Equality in Family Law – ensuring
you are balancing the needs of each campaign. The position will report directly
to the Global Communications Directo
Role responsibilities
Strategy/Planning/Monitoring
- Create an annual comms plan for
each campaign with achievable KPIs for both campaigns in conjunction with
the Campaign Manager and wider Communications team, balancing the need to
support their planned work with the ability to respond to reactive
opportunities
- Create a supporter journey for
both campaigns and create the appropriate content
- Monitor results and deliver a
monthly report with recommendations for adaptations to plans based on
results
Assets and content
- Lead on the development of the
campaign websites, along with uploading SEO optimized content and
functionality development new sections, API integration.
- Build on our key messaging,
working with the Campaign leads to ensure the campaign has relevant key messages
which distil complex information into clear narratives underpinned by
evidence-based information.
- Create marketing assets for each
campaign for use online and offline.
- Ensure brand coherence across
coalition activity
- Create and/or curate written content
for the website, and social channels, working with coalition resources
Stakeholder engagement
Create a database/social following
- Research, identify and collect
email data of key target audiences for the purposes of landing key
information on email and social
- Create lists and audience groups
on social channels to target content to and track external events/moments
- Respond to inbound enquiries from
email and social
Champion comms with internal stakeholders:
- Develop excellent working
relationships with key leads from across the organization to help build
key stakeholders’ understanding of the campaign communications plans and
find opportunities to collaborate
- Ensure coalitions stakeholders
are aware of key campaign dates and that they have the information and
tools to share with their own networks
- Co-host a regular communications
working group with the GCEFL and create quarterly updates on progress for
both
Advocacy Communications and Reputation building
- Identify speaking event and
exhibition opportunities in line with the annual plan
- Support event planning and
delivery, including messaging build and coverage
- Ensure timely delivery of key
information on platforms including reports
- Manage all aspects of key
communication campaigns across the year in line with the communications
strategies for both campaigns – working closely with the campaign managers
- Inspire commentators, thinkers
and influencers in each space to champion/talk about AUDRi.
Media
- Work closely with the coalitions
media representatives to build an active and informed network of journalists
and spokesperson matrix
- Pitch the coalitions work to
target journalists
- Respond to inbound media requests
for the campaigns
- Proactively respond to external
media moments, offering comment to journalists or placing commentary on
social channels
- Work with the campaign leads and
media representatives to identify and place thought pieces (written, audio
and visual) to highlight the campaign messaging
Educational
qualifications, skills, experience and behaviors
- Educated to degree level or
equivalent professional experience
- Strong experience (5+ years) of
leading, planning, delivering and evaluating successful multichannel
communications campaigns and other communications projects in the NGO
sector, preferably in human rights
- Experience of delivering activity
aimed at politicians, governments, corporations and funders
- Planning and creating
content/moments to bring the communications plan to life with operational
expertise across the communications mix, especially digital communications
and events
- Good knowledge of data as a
foundation of communications
- Comfortable in creating messaging
for multiple audiences and multiple uses including digital, speeches,
thought leadership
- Understanding of the role of
media and experience of engaging journalists to pitch and place media
- Proactive approach to spotting
opportunities for comment in the media and social with a keen eye on
global news
- Excellent communication skills,
both written and verbal
- Experience of working with
project management methodologies, with high levels of
- organization and time-management
skills, with an ability to work under pressures
- Experience in CMS and website
development direction and using email platforms such as Mailchimp
- Requirement to work flexibly, to
meet the needs of the organization when required
- Passionate about the cause and
about delivering exciting impactful work
- Fluency in English is mandatory
and Arabic desirable
