Principal Supply Chain Management Officer
Duties and
responsibilities at this level will entail;
- Coordinate development and
monitoring the implementation of the procurement and asset disposal plans
in line with the approved budgets
- Coordinate design, development
and maintenance of sound procurement controls and systems.
- Coordinate market research to keep
abreast of the market developments.
- Maintain and update the lists of
registered/prequalified suppliers
- Preparation and circulation of
tender documents.
- Co-ordinate the opening and
evaluation of tenders
- Prepare and submit profession
opinion to guide the Director General on award decisions for tenders.
- Act as Secretary in various
procurement committees.
- Notify bidders of the outcomes of
the tenders submitted to KRB.
- Participate in contract
negotiations with suppliers.
- Supervise the preparation of
purchase orders
- Monitor the implementation of
contracts.
- Coordinate process of disposal of
obsolete, unserviceable and idle assets.
Qualifications
For appointment to this
grade, a candidate must have:-
- At
least eight (8) years relevant work experience in public or private, three
(3) of which must have been at a supervisory level;
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Commerce, Procurement and Supplies Management, or equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution;
- Master’s
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent
- qualification
from a recognized institution;
- Be
Member of professional body either KISM or CIPS in good standing;
- Proficiency
in computer applications
- Attended
a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized
institution;
- Demonstrated
results in work performance; and
- Fulfilled
the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
