Veterinary Officer 

Responsibilities

  • Implement animal disease control activities, strategies and policy frameworks
  • Organize and undertake vaccinations against Livestock diseases
  • Undertake Livestock disease surveillance
  • Coordinate Vector control
  • Undertake livestock movement control
  • Undertake animal welfare and protection activities
  • Supervision of sub county staff, interns and attachment students
  • Coordination of performance management in the subcounty veterinary activities
  • Undertaking postmortem examinations and diagnostic tests
  • Providing advice on animal breeding and welfare
  • Implement any other relevant county/sub-county activities as may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
  • Registered with Kenya Veterinary Board and with a valid practicing license
  • A member of Kenya Veterinary Association/Board
  • At least 2 years’ experience in similar job.
  • Good communication skills,
  • Report writing skills
