The Project
The University of
Nairobi’s Molecular Medicine and Infectious Diseases Support Program provides
advanced molecular diagnostics as part of the National HIV Reference Network.
The Program wishes to fill two (2) posts of Laboratory Technologist in order to
meet increasing demand for HIV Viral Load, Early Infant Diagnosis and
Genotyping for drug resistance testing.
Minimum requirements:
For appointment to the
position, a candidate must have:
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Microbiology.
Three (3) years hands on
experience in a busy molecular laboratory (advanced knowledge of DNA and RNA
PCR; and genetic analysis protocols).
Terms of appointment
This a position whose
tenure is one (1) year contract renewable based on performance, by mutual
consent and availability of funds. The salary is negotiable depending on the
level of education and work experience.
