SENIOR TECHNICIAN (ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY)

Requirements for appointment

  •  A degree from a recognized Institution in Analytical Chemistry with at least six (6) years of working experience in a university or research laboratory

OR

  • Higher National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry with at least six (6) years of working experience in a university or research laboratory
  • Show proven ability in assembling and maintenance of basic scientific equipment.
  • Ability to operate AAS, GC, HPLC, UV-Vis, Soil analyzer, Chemistry analyzer, Rotary evaporator among other scientific equipment.
  • Knowledge in Information Communication Technology.
  • First Aid and Occupational Health and Safety Training.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Supervising and assisting students in the laboratory.
  • Collection and Preparation of teaching, learning and research materials.
  •  Preparation of tools, Equipment and machines for use in research and practical by the students and teaching staff.
  •  Obtaining and setting of equipment for practical and demonstration.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory.
  •  Assist teaching staff and students in carrying out various teaching and research projects in the laboratory.
