About the role
Practical Action is commencing a five-year project that will be implemented in Kisumu, Homabay, Siaya, Migori, Nyamira, Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia and Vihiga Counties. The project aims to make agriculture an attractive and resilient employer for young people by promoting agricultural livelihoods for the youth underpinned by agro-ecological principles and practices. The project aims to break the cycles of low productivity and increasing rural poverty, through a holistic approach which will enable young men and women to increase their income through agri-business.
As the Senior Monitoring
and Evaluation Officer, you will be the lead technical staff responsible for
program level monitoring, evaluation and reporting of performance and results,
lead efforts to strengthen MEAL within specific projects including building the
capacity of project staff to monitor, document and analyse the performance of
their interventions/activities and ensure data quality. You will also be
responsible for development and implementation of continuous quality
improvement systems to ensure ongoing program improvement and reaching of
targets and ensure program data is tracked, verified and reported and
supporting documentation is maintained.
As an experienced
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning professional, you will have a
degree in development studies or any other relevant degree and minimum of five
(5 )years’ work experience in knowledge management, monitoring and evaluating
programs with an organization with a robust M&E component, experience of
using indicators at output, outcome and goal level and developing tools to
measure this, strong experience in evaluation methodologies such as outcome mapping
and Most Significant Change, experience of building in gender and inclusion
into project design and MEAL aspects, experience in quantitative and
qualitative data collection and management, experience in gathering learnings
and then promoting their application and experience of building capacity of
staff on MEL.
