Job Vacancy: Analyst
Location: Nairobi
Duties
and Responsibilities
The
Senior Analyst will have a wide range of evolving responsibilities.
They
assist the associates, managers and principal in all aspects of their work
including but not limited to:
· They
assist the Principal, Manager, and Associate in delivering high-quality work on
engagements to clients in diversified sectors.
· Conducting
industry and market research and assisting Raisin’s business development
through the preparation of proposals and proactively targeting business
opportunities in Africa.
· Participating
in all phases of the fund raising project life cycle, including preparing the
business for exit, preparing marketing material and structuring, investor match
making, transaction due diligence support, transaction structuring and
negotiation and definitive agreements preparation, regulatory approvals support
and closing
· Analyze financial statements/projections, build financial models, and run sensitivities, with accountability for factual accuracy.
· Reviewing
company information and preparing reports on periodic financial statements,
project progress reports, and other information submitted by clients.
· Review
the work of junior members of the team and provide training where necessary.
Qualifications
& Skills
· A
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related course from a reputable university.
· A CFA
Candidature will be an added advantage
· A Master’s
degree in finance, business, economics, or equivalent, though not required, is
an added advantage.
· At
least 2 years of experience in a reputable professional services firm in
external audit, corporate finance or transaction services.
· Ability
to strategically analyze companies/industries/countries
· Strong
analytical and quantitative skills including corporate/project finance, data
analysis, market assessment, and industry and regulatory analysis.
· Ability
to develop complex financial models; Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and database
skills
· Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills as well as sound business judgment to
identify issues and present creative and practical solutions
· Ability
to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries and time
zones
· Proactive,
initiative taker with strong teamwork skills
· Ability
to manage and complete multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and to meet
deadlines under pressure
· Excellent
verbal and written communication skills in English are a must.
· Make
Smart Decisions – Leverages available data and makes timely decisions.
· Organizational,
and communications skills, including the ability to work credibly with senior
staff.
· Ability
to form relationships with counterparts, clients and stakeholders to exchange
information needed.
· Demonstrated
skill in financial statement analysis, accounting, finance, financial modeling,
DCF, and comparable company analysis to support informed decision-making.
· Ability
to demonstrate attention to detail, thoughtful scenario analysis, and diligence
in the quality of your own work.
