Bancassurance Underwriting Officer


This role entails underwriting general classes of insurance for both bank and non-bank clients, to offer wholesome insurances which in return increases and retains income to Bancassurance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviewing insurance applications for compliance and adherence.
  • Placing businesses with Insurers
  • Preparing renewal schedules and obtaining quotes for competitive insurance premiums and sharing with Clients
  • Obtaining rates from the insurance companies and preparing quotation for new businesses
  • Arranging, preparing of renewal register and renewing of existing businesses
  • Creating Customers in CRM system, debiting/endorsing policies in GIS system
  • Checking policy documents to ensure the terms, conditions and warranties are favorable to our clients.

  • Regular dispatching of policy documents and endorsements to Customers,
  • Following up on documents from various insurers after placing covers
  • Timely issuance of Motor Certificates and sharing with Customers

Academic Qualifications

  • College Diploma and Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance

Professional Qualifications

  • At least 5 years relevant experience.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance or an equivalent professional qualification

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions
  • Ability to make logical, rational and sound judgment.
  • Team Player
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic data analysis skills
  • Self-driven individual
