Vacant Position: Loan Consultant
Reporting to: The Branch Manager
Location: Thika, Kenya

Our client is a fast-growing financial technology company
operating in Zambia, South Africa, Uganda, and Kenya. Kenyan subsidiary is to
offer a “Touch and Tech” approach direct to retail consumers.
The company delivers personal lending products from physical branch and digital channels, utilizing internally generated software and lending products backed by IT and data analytics teams based in South Africa.
The company is well supported by strong shareholders and a board
of directors with vast experience in entrepreneurship and lending.
They are seeking to recruit a loan consultant.
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications;
Qualifications
· A college Diploma or
University Degree preferably in business related discipline from a recognized
institution.
· At least 2 years’
demonstrable experience in individual lending from a micro finance/commercial
bank.
· Certificate of good
conduct.
· Computer literate and
proficient.
Duties and key
responsibilities:
· Develop new business
opportunities by proactively marketing for individual loan products to suitable
potential clients.
· Interview, visit analyze
and evaluate borrowers and potential borrowers with emphasis on risks and
particular focus on credit risks.
· Prepare and make
appropriate credit recommendations to the branch credit committee.
· Work closely with the
entire branch staff to maintain a high degree of customer service levels and
focus.
· Proactive loan portfolio
monitoring and management.
· Prepare performance
reports, work plans and activity reports.
· Participate on setting
up personal productivity targets and work towards achieving them.
