Job Title: Accountant

Location: Nairobi, Airport North Road, off Mombasa Road

Job Type: Contract (with a 3 Month probationary period)

Salary Range: Ksh 40,000 – Ksh 60,000 Gross Monthly

Reporting to: Senior Accountant

Purpose: The successful applicant will assist in day to day running of the finance department by ensuring all daily transactions are captured correctly and promptly to enable the production of various accounting reports.


Qualifications

·  Degree or Diploma in Finance/ Accounting or a Business-related Field

·  Holder of CPA K or its equivalent

·  Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications

Experience

·  Candidates must have at least 2-year working experience in a similar position.

·  Experience in the IT industry is an added advantage.

Duties / Responsibilities

·  Reconciliation of account receivables and account payables.

·  Preparation and submission of periodic statutory deductions and filings before the set deadlines.

·  Preparation of financial reports and departmental reports.

·  Work with the finance team on annual budgets and forecasting efforts.

·  Undertake daily banking functions and bank reconciliations.

·  Working with the internal and external auditors. Undertaking the preparatory work for the annual audit of accounts and assisting in the implementation of audit recommendations.

·  Preparation of working papers for the generation of financial reports i.e. Profit and loss account, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

·  Filing financial documents in an organized manner for easy retrieval and reference.

·  Preparation of payment vouchers for both operations and project expenses.

·  Petty cash management through review of cash requests and ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate before disbursement.

·  Provide feedback on company policies and procedures, and constantly look out for potential changes that could improve operational efficiency, reduce costs or improve cash flow management.

·  Ensure that the company is fully compliant with all tax and legal obligations as per the legislation and regulations of Kenya.

·  Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
