Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately and appropriately use assessment procedures for determining and structuring individual and group counselling services;
  • Responsible for handling psycho-social problems of clients at the NPS;
  • Extract psycho-social information from the client;
  • Observe of causal factors which might be useful to the treatment plan;
  • Implement client’s treatment programme and follow-up on discharge from the Centre;

  • Keeping appropriate client database;
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, staff, and other agencies; and
  • Ensure implementation of a coordinated service which meets the needs of the client group and to identify gaps in the Service

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, Sociology from a recognized    Institution

OR

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in any of the Social Sciences with a Diploma in Counselling from a recognized institution;
  2. Proficiency in computer applications;
  3. Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

Remuneration Package:

Gross Salary: As per NPSC Salary Structure

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Anual Leave: 30 working days per financial year

Leave Allowance: As existing in the Commission

Medical Cover: As existing in the Commission
