ICT Officer – One (1) Post V/No. 3/2022

The National Research Fund (NRF) is a State Corporation established under section 32 of the Science, Technology and Innovation Act No. 28 of 2013 with the objective to facilitate Research for the advancement of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The Agency seeks to recruit qualified, competent, dynamic, proactive, innovative and highly committed staff to fill the position of ICT Officer.

Job Specification

This is the entry position for this cadre. An Officer at this level will work under supervision of a senior. The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

  • Writing and testing computer programmes according to instructions and
  • Specifications prepared by a more senior and experienced officer;
  • Implementation of the computer systems and providing user support, including training users;
  • Performing technical, systems and user documentation tasks;
  • Working closely with user departments and undertaking systems analysis of
  • Business requirements, design, implement and support software solutions;
  • Developing software solutions in ABAP/4 programming language and/or
  • Approved system development tool(s);
  • Providing technical support for all the implemented SAP system modules;
  • Troubleshoot reported system failures and provide appropriate solutions;
  • Undertaking internal training of end users on implemented ICT systems; and
  • Participating in capacity building on ICT systems.

Applicant Specification

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: –

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT, Information Systems or related field;
  • Member of the Computer Society of Kenya;
  • Proficiency in Computer applications, and
  • Meets the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.
