Position Scope: The role holder will be responsible for providing support on the Bank’s Hardware Infrastructure.
He/She will also be responsible
for technical design, configuration and management of hardware resources in
windows and Linux environments among others to ensure end to end availability,
performance, maintenance and capacity of ICT hardware resources across the Bank
network in line with best practice and all relevant guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of
performance, security, quality and capacity of all Hardware Servers,
including Hyperconverged Infrastructure.
- Responsible for
active Directory Services Infrastructure architect/design/support. Strong
understanding of Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests,
Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational units.
- Management of server
patching and upgrades through experience in windows deployment solutions
(SCCM, Ghost, etc.) and Ansible.
- Responsible for
monitoring, configure and support Linux Systems especially Redhat
- Responsible for
monitoring, configure and support VMware, Openshift and Hyper-V systems
- Continuously monitor
and report the availability, performance and capacity of hardware resources
- Management of
reliable, quality and secure servers within approved industry standards in
order to optimize technologies
- Participate in
partnerships with service providers to manage total cost of ownership
- Periodic review of
available and new technologies in line with best industry practice to
support business growth with a bias on excellent understanding of
configuration and support of container–orchestration systems such as
Kubernetes on Redhat Openshift platform.
- Plan and support
implementation of ICT Hardware systems as part of the Bank’s Business
Continuity Management
- Ensure adherence to
policies, procedures, guidelines, standards and relevant regulatory
requirements.
- Responsible for
support of audit and compliance issues or any other controls related to
ICT hardware management.
- Provide first level
technology support ensuring high level customer experience for internal and
external customers for all NBK business server hardware infrastructure
within the SLA.
Skills & Experience:
- A university degree
in an ICT related discipline from an accredited university
- MCSE: Core
Infrastructure is an added advantage.
- Redhat Certified Specialist
in Ansible Automation and /or Redhat Certified Specialist in Openshift
Administration is an added advantage.
- Redhat Certified
Associate (RHCA) is an added advantage.
- Two (2) years of
working experience in the ICT administration of hardware and related
desktop applications.
- Python scripting and
or related scripting technology knowledge is an added advantage
- Knowledge in Oracle
Engineered Systems and Oracle Operating systems
- Proven capabilities
in delivering tech hardware related projects.
- Excellent
communication skills; articulate in communicating to both internal and
external stakeholders at level levels.
