Associate Director – Resource Mobilization

Leading the development
and implementation of WVK’S overall organizational resource mobilization
strategy. S/he will ensure proper relationship building to cultivate and
leverage an ever-stronger donor support base for WVK across bilateral,
multilateral, philanthropic, and corporate partners.
S/he will support
the RAM Director in the development and implementation of clear and tangible
strategies for ensuring: 1) effective stakeholder engagement at all
levels of the organization, 2) well-coordinated and target responsive resource
acquisition efforts that focuses on WVK’s programmatic priorities and core
competencies 3) Disaster Mitigation fundraising coordination

Leadership & Strategic Management
- Advises
the RAM director, SLT and SMT in identifying representational events with
the potential for meaningful donor interaction. Provide proactive and
timely advice to senior management on strategic interaction with
individual donors
- Advises
and responds to internal and prepare response to external queries
regarding donor issues.
- Advises
Technical teams and operations teams on donor compliance and WVKs
requirements, including ensuring timely and quality reporting
- Represents
WVK at external forums and meetings on occasion to position the
institution with donors and partners critical to achieving WVKs strategy.
- Assesses
and contributes to WVK’s strategy documents and knowledge management
products to help best position the institution for resource mobilization
- Ensures
that the successful implementation of the resource acquisition management
system enhances WVK programmatic impact in accordance with established
strategic priorities while increasing donor satisfaction and retention
- Ensures
that business processes, standards and policies – developed in
coordination with other WVK entities
- Ensure
that the local resource acquisition management system effectively
standardizes processes for identifying and establishing priority sectors
and opportunities, assessing risk considerations and making go / no go
decisions

Grow Resources
- Ensures
that all the proposals developed for WVK donors are of quality, meeting
donor requirements and aligned WVK strategy
- Actively
seek out strategic alliances with donors, NGOs, UN, governments, Support
Offices, bilateral and multilateral agencies for purposes of coordination,
marketing and fundraising.
- Proactively
provide donor updates on existing grants and keep the donor relations on
course;
- Ensure
good donor and World Vision
International Support Office relations by meeting all
contractual obligations and achieves high quality planning and implementation
levels;
- Ensure
new and existing donor exposure to
WVK’s impact within communities including round table meetings
with leadership.
- Actively
network and initiate strategic meetings
between donors’ representatives and WVK.
- Coordinate
development and review of appropriate sectoral marketing products for key
donors

new and innovative projects and ideas that will be developed further into
concepts and proposals

- Designs,
implements and coordinates an organizational wide, comprehensive donor
relations and stewardship system that fosters positive and mutually
rewarding relations between WVK and its donors

key trends and gathers intelligence of individual donor policies and plans
vis-à-vis WVKs
- Expands
WVKs current donor base, through effective stewardship and new funding
opportunities as may be developed to grow donor support for WVK
- Ensure
that the successful implementation of a coordinated local engagement
strategy
- Identify
and prioritize key stakeholders, create clear points of engagement locally
- Develop
essential core competencies and provide the support and assistance to
foster continuous, effective engagement
- Facilitate
WVK engagement with Government and partners
- Ensure
that strategic partnerships are established, strengthened and maintained –
with the private sector, government and CSO partners.

Qualifications
List education, knowledge
& skills, licenses preferred, and all experiences required to perform this
position in a fully competent manner.
Minimum education, training
and experience requirements to qualify for the position:

qualification for this position.
- Master’s
degree in a relevant field from a recognized university
- Minimum
of 10 years’ experience of which should include program design for
development programs, grant acquisition and management, and local
fundraising
- Must
have at least 5 years’ experience in leading and coordinating teams
- Ample
experience and expertise in partnering with government, multilateral
donors and private sector
- Must
have experience in local institutions and how they work
- Knowledge
of WVI working systems, policies and standards will be an advantage.

- Training
or certification in Portfolio and/or Programme Management with accredited
institutions
- Ability
to engage at a strategic level with senior government, UN and INGO
officials.
- Ability

budgetary and financial management skills.
- Strong
negotiation and representation skills.
- Proficiency
in written and spoken English.
- The
