is an International NGO operating in various Counties in Kenya and is currently
looking for qualified personnel to fill the following position for a fixed term
period to be based at our Western Region – Kakamega and Bungoma Field Offices.
Agricultural Field Coordinator
1 Post – Siaya
To qualify as an Agricultural Field
Coordinator, the candidate must possess the following:
Required Education:
·
Minimum university degree in
Agriculture.
·
A degree in Agriculture – Soil
Protection / Science is an advantage
·
Post Graduate Diploma in Project
Management is an advantage
Required Experience
·
At least 3 years of professional work
experience in a similar position (proven project expertise on topics related to
soil health) in an NGO set up.
Required Skills:
·
Project co-ordination and management
skills.
·
Good organizational and communication
skills.
·
Knowledgeable in quality control and
supervision.
·
Good knowledge on Project monitoring,
evaluation and reporting (PMER).
·
Excellent report and proposal writing
skills
·
Experience working with county
government ministries.
·
Excellent team leadership skills
Deputy Project Manager
1 Post – Kakamega
To qualify as a Deputy Project Manager, the candidate must
possess the following:
Required Education:
·
Minimum university degree in
Agriculture – Soil Protection/Science.
·
Post Graduate Diploma in Project
Management
·
Master’s degree in
agriculture/Project Management or related field will be an added advantage
Required Experience
·
At least 5 years of professional work
experience in a similar position (proven project expertise on topics related to
soil health/protection) in an NGO set up.
·
People management skills: At least
having attended a leadership training that lasted for more than 5 days.
Required Skills:
·
Project co-ordination and management
skills.
·
Good organizational and communication
skills.
·
Knowledgeable in operational
planning, quality control and supervision.
·
Good knowledge on Project monitoring,
evaluation and reporting (PMER).
·
Experience in development cooperation.
·
Excellent report and proposal writing
skills
·
Experience working with county
government ministries.
·
Excellent insight of legislative
agricultural management in the country.
Agricultural Field Officer
1 Post – Kakamega
To qualify as an Agricultural Field Officer, the candidate
must possess the following: –
·
BSc in Agribusiness, Agricultural
Education & Extension, Agricultural Economics or related field, from a
recognized university;
or
·
Diploma in Agricultural Education
& Extension, Agricultural Economics or related field, from a recognized
university.
·
a minimum 2-years of progressive
experience in setting up and implementing livelihoods or income generating
projects preferably with an NGO.
·
Experience in implementing soil
protection projects
·
Experience working with local
implementing partners, Farmer Based Organizations county governments, donors
and local communities;
·
Ability to conduct educational
trainings that provide farmers with information that can help them improve
agricultural productivity and marketing.
·
Excellent computer skills
·
Community Mobilization skills highly
required
·
Good communicator with analytical and
problem-solving skills
·
Knowledge of local languages
(Kakamega) will be an added advantage.
