Title    ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Responsibilities
•    To verify accuracy of accounting data
•    Ensure the financial management policy is working right for the organization
•    Ensure safe custody of all accountable documents
•    Check and verify all payments

•    Ensure data backup is done on a daily basis
•    Co-ordinate the production of financial and management information
•    Ensure posting of all transactions to the general ledger
•    Prepare Quarterly economic performance reports
•    Prepare society final accounts
•    Prepare monthly financial management reports
•    Prepare Society financial quarterly reports
•    Supervise all society activities and stepping in place of other officers when they are not present
•    Tax Administration
•    Compile all society daily transactions and summaries
•    Receive and banks cheques
•    Keep a record of all cheques drawn
•    Ensure that all cash balances are well maintained by using the cheques register
•    Provide periodic cash balances reports to the Manager
•    Ensure that all cash transactions involving the co-operative expenditure are properly authorized
•    General administration of Society’s work
•    Maintain adequate liquidity reserves in accordance with rules and regulations
•    Attending to members queries
•    Any duties that may be assigned to him/her from time to time by the Manager

Qualifications
•    Must have CPA II
•    Mean grade C+ in KCSE, C+ in Mathematics and English
•    Diploma in co-operative Management/Diploma in Banking or Certified Credit Management (CCM) is an added advantage
•    Minimum Twenty seven (27) year of age
Skills and Desired Qualities
•    Computer literacy and knowledge of at least one accounting package
•    Ability to work under minimum supervision
•    Eye on detail
Experience
•    Minimum 2 years relevant experience in the Co-operative movement or in a leading organization

Our key roles at the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives Limited (KUSCCO) – as the umbrella body for SACCOs – are mainly advocacy and representation. •    Identify audit issues and report to  Internal Audit Manager
•    Checking on loans stoppage
•    Assist in preparing audit reports, queries and observations
•    Assist in the preparation of audit manual detailing and audit plans
•    Carryout post audit to ascertain compliance
•    Perform any other duty assigned by the Internal Audit Manager

Qualifications
•    A Bachelor of Commerce/ Business Administration degree (Finance or Accounting or Auditing) or its equivalent from a recognized University
•    CPA (K)
•    CISA will be added advantage

Responsibilities
•    Responsible for Strategic Plan implementation at the Branch level
•    Ensure human resource development and training for branch staff in liaison with the HR Manager
•    Ensure adherence to the established Code of Conduct
•    Ensure compliance with the Act, Regulations, Co-operative Act, Rules By laws and any other applicable laws at the Branch
•    To cause to keep proper books of records and register and have custody of all funds, securities, valuable papers and other assets of the specific branch
•    To attend Board of Directors meetings when required
•    Chair branch staff meetings
•    To represent the Society in business transactions and any other transaction authorized by the Board of Directors and the  CEO
•    Ensure adequate insurance is in place to protect the assets of the Society in the specific branch against potential loss
•    Conduct staff appraisals at the Branch
•    Any other duty that may be assigned by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
•    Business related degree or its equivalent
•    Relevant professional qualification
•    Diploma in Cooperative management/ Banking or its equivalent will be an added advantage
