Farm Tractor Operator (2 Posts)

Number of Posts: Two (2)
Terms of Service: Contract Three (3) Years
Remuneration: As provided for by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission
Qualifications

  • Served as a tractor operator for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • A valid driving license which is 5 years old from the date of issue and has the necessary tractor stamp;
  • Attendance of a First-Aid Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or the Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution will be an added advantage;
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Responsibilities
  • Operating farm tractors;
  • Keeping monthly records of services of the farm tractors;
  • Preparing Monthly and weekly service schedules and ensuring they are followed;
  • Guiding turn boys and machine attendants;
  • Repairing minor defects on farm tractors;
  • Liaising with the officer-in-charge for major repairs; supervising cleanliness of the farm tractors;
  • Assisting in training junior farm tractor operators.

Support Staff (3 Posts) – Nursery Attendant

JG “D”
Number of Posts: Three (3)
Terms of Service: Contract One (1) Year (Renewable based on performance)
Remuneration: As provided for by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission
Qualifications
  • Must be an adult Kenyan citizen;
  • A 1 year-experience in a similar position will be an added advantage;
  • A KCPE certificate will be an added advantage;
  • Should have good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure
Responsibilities
Management of crop nurseries located in Sagalla, Voi Showground and Kitobo, including
  • Cultivating of crop nurseries;
  • Management of the seedlings;
  • Regular reporting on nursery operations
Any other duties as may be assigned
