Oasis Healthcare Group Limited is a group of specialist Doctors working and operating across the country since 2010 under group-based practice model.

We currently have facilities in the following counties: Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya, Uasin-Gishu, Kitui, Nairobi, Kakamega, Bungoma and Nakuru.
We are looking for interested and qualified individuals to filling the following vacancies in one of our facilities in Homa Bay which will be rolling out in patient services.
The jobs are on renewable contractual basis
Job Title: Laboratory Technician
(2 Positions)
Main Purpose: Reporting to the Hospital Administrator, the successful candidate will help in running the lab on a daily basis.
Duties and Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:
·         Collect blood samples from patients.
·         Practice proper patient identification, especially when working on hospital floors.
·         Label vials with patient names and dates.
·         Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient.
·         Centrifuge blood samples, depending on if this is allowed in the state you are working in.
·         Expect to work with a large number of patients varying in age and health status. Machines: it is the responsibility of the Lab Tech to run Quality control for all machines and reagents before any tests have been done to ensure validity and correctness of results.
·         It is the responsibility of the Lab Tech to ensure confidentiality of all patients’ results at all times. The responsible lab tech will be held liable in cases of patients test results leaked to third parties.
Job Requirement
·         A degree/diploma in Laboratory Sciences
·         Registration and Licensure by the body for Lab Technicians
·         Ability to work with minimum supervision.
·         Ability to analyze and evaluate data critically.
·         Ability to prepare and keep budgets.
·         Computer literate.

Job Title: Pharmaceutical Technologist
(2 Positions)
Main Purpose: Reporting to the Administrator, the successful candidate will help in running the day to day operations of the Pharmacy in line with the professional practice, regulations and laws of the land. To provide comprehensive pharmaceutical service to patients and other customers as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:
·         Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
·         Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labelling pharmaceuticals.
·         Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
·         Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counselling patients on drug therapies.
·         Develop hospital staff’s pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs; training pharmacy staff, interns, and nurses.
·         Protect patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols
·         Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Job Requirement
·         Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
·         Registration with the Pharmacy and Poison Board.
·         Minimum of one year relevant experience Customer friendly.

Nursing Officers
4 Positions
General Description: To provide comprehensive medical and nursing services to all patients in order to assist them regain good health. To promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
·         Maintains nursing guidelines by following the laid down Standard Nursing Policies and procedures.
·         Adhere to duty Rosters and Patient Allocation; Assess, Plan and implement nursing care using the Nursing process framework.
·         Maintain the nursing ethos as prescribed in the Nurses’ Act Cap 257 of the Laws of Kenya and the Hospital regulations.
·         Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
·         Maintain a therapeutic environment with other health and non-health professionals to uplift multi-disciplinary team spirit.

Job Title: Cook
(2 Positions)
General Description: The cooks will be preparing delicious meals as per our menu and to the guests’ satisfaction and in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Prepare the work station with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
·         Cook various dishes
·         Check food while cooking to stir or turn
·         Ensure great presentation of dishes before they are served
·         Keep a sanitized and a clean working environment in the kitchen
·         Ensure proper labelling of items and storage of food items
·         Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness.
·         Check quality of cooking ingredients
·         Monitor stock and requisition when there are shortages
Job Requirements
·         Must be at least 18 years of age.
·         High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·         Excellent communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
·         Have basic knowledge in computer applications.

Job Title: Cleaners
(3 Positions)
General Description: Responsible for the general cleaning of the hospital to ensure a hygienic environment within the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
·         Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points
·         Dusting, damp wiping, washing or polishing the furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces of cupboards, shelves and fittings
·         Replenishing consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required
·         Cleaning toilets, urinals, hand basins and sinks
·         Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment (if any), in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
·         Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, using mowers and hand to clear debris from grounds.
Job Requirements
·         At least a Certificate in Housekeeping
·         Good communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
·         At least one year working experience in a similar position

Job Title: Anesthetist
(1 Position)
General Description: The Clinical Anesthetist will be responsible for handling surgical patients and their pain relief during procedures. During surgery, anesthetist shall administer anesthetics (drugs) and adjust them as needed, and they also monitor patients’ vital signs. In addition, they provide relief for women during labor, for patients in intensive care and for chronic pain patients.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Review and assessment of patients preoperatively,
·         Management of patients postoperatively,
·         Management of patients in theatre ICU and HDU departments,
·         Giving continuous medical education on a regular basis,
·         Undertake requisite professional development activities,
·         Use intravenous, local, caudal or spinal methods to administer sedation or pain medications during surgical and other medical procedures,

·         Supervise patients and monitor their pain medications before, during and after surgery; offset adverse complications or reactions; record amount and type of anesthesia as well as the patients’ conditions throughout procedures,
·         Determine risk during medical procedures by taking medical histories, examining patients and ordering diagnostic procedures like x-rays and laboratory tests;
·         Discuss with other healthcare professionals about the method and type of anesthetic to make patients numb to pain,
·         Provide and sustain airway management and life support during emergency surgery,
·         Monitor patients post-surgery and determine when they are stabilized enough to move to another room or go home,
·         Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and possible complications; instruct on different ways to prevent disease and improve health,
·         Provide leadership and guidance to the team, motivation, and appraisal.
·         In charge of rota making, ensuring proper hospital coverage pertaining to anaesthesia,
·         To provide care to critically ill patients in the HDU, ICU and including the Emergency department,

Job Requirements
·         Higher diploma in clinical medicine and surgery anesthesia from a recognized institution.
·         Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery or clinical medicine and community health from a recognized institution.
·         Certificate of registration from the clinical officer’s council. Valid practicing license from Clinical officers’ council.

Job Title: Patient Attendants
(4 Positions)
General Description: To provide comprehensive technical Nursing services in the clinics and wards.
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Assist in the delivery of the following services as allocated by a Registered Nurse; Showering, bathing and sponging, Repositioning, pressure area and skin care, Hair shaving and nail care, Mouth care, Eye and ear care
·         Change and make up occupied and unoccupied beds.
·         Assist in the collection and recording of clinical data as allocated by a Registered Nurse
·         Promote and maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
·         Ongoing cleaning of clinical equipment and working surfaces (trolleys, stretchers, wheel chairs), preparing treatment/procedure/delivery rooms prior to use.
·         Maintain inventory of equipment such as ripple mattress, wheel chairs, stretchers and stock take of toiletries, linen and other items used by the patient.
·         Report all observations and concerns about the patient to a Registered Nurse
·         Document all patient responses to direct care/assistance given in the Patient Assistants Care Plans and progress notes.
·         Accompany patients who have been discharged or referred out of the facility
·         Assist in emergencies
·         Assist in administrative duties such as photocopying ward forms.

Job Title: Medical Officer
(2 Positions)
Main Purpose: Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing consultancy and quality clinical judgment to patients
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Manage the OPD / Emergency / Ward and assist the consultants
·         Initiate and monitor treatment;
·         Conduct medical procedure under supervision after getting the consent from patient’s attendant.
·         Accompany consultant doctors on IPD Ward visits
·         In the absence of the Consultant – Pay timely visits to In – patients and treat the patients along the indicated line of treatment
·         Attend emergencies and informing consultant doctors for further action.
·         Check and authorize all diagnostic requisition slips.
·         Ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritizes the safety and well-being of patients;
·         Assess patients on admission and/or discharge as required and write detailed reports in the case notes;
·         Consultations should not only be limited to actions beyond their scope, but also in uncertain situations as well as where extra assistance would improve performance
·         Mentorship & supervision of clinical attachees
·         Order and interpret diagnostic tests;
·         Providing information regarding the patient’s condition to his/her attendant whenever required.
·         Attend clinics and participate in relevant meetings, case conferences and ward rounds; followed by documentation of findings on each patients’ chart; follow through with actions arising from the round;
·         Participate in multi-disciplinary clinical audit and proactive risk management and facilitate production of all data / information for same; co-operate with investigations, enquiries or audit relating to the provision of health services;
·         Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality and ethics; abide by the Kenyan Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
·         Seek advice and assistance from the consultant / clinical director / employer with any assigned cases or issues that prove to be beyond the scope of his / her professional competence in line with principles of best practice and clinical governance;
·         Cover for occasional unplanned absence of colleagues;

Job Requirements
·         Degree in Medicine from a recognized University
·         More than two years working experience.
·         Must be Registered / Licensed by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
·         Competency and certification in emergency procedures e.g. ACLS, BLS, ATLS etc. will be an added advantage.
·         Excellent public relations and communication skills
·         General competencies in Obstetrics, Pediatrics, medical, surgical, Outpatient care.
·         Must have a professional Indemnity insurance.

Job Title: Theatre Technician
(1 Position)
Duties and Responsibilities
·         Responsible for disinfection, preparation, cleanliness and maintenance of the operating room before and after surgery and assists in bringing the patient to the operating room.
·         Maintains cleanliness in the operating room and ensures adequacy of provisions before a surgery.
·         Clean and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment after surgery.
·         Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for autoclaving/sterilization per protocol
·         Maintains and keeps all surgical tools sterile and orderly.
·         Maintains and keeps all equipment clean and functional.
·         Prepares the patient before and after surgery by washing and disinfecting the area for surgery.
·         Prepare necessary equipment and instrument prior to procedure/surgery.
·         Assists in bringing the patient to the operating room.
·         Attends to the needs of the patient while inside the operating room.
·         Assist surgeon during the procedure.
·         Assist nursing staff in keeping patients safe during the procedure by assisting RN with the application of restraints and following the recommended protocol.
·         Takes care of any specimens obtained for testing following laboratory procedures/protocol.
·         Provides assistance to the surgical team and coordinates very closely with the doctors, nurses and laboratory staff.
·         Clean and disinfect operating room area after each procedure/surgery.

·         Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Theatre Technician.
·         Keen on details with a high degree of accuracy.
