Nurse Counselor


Job purpose
To deliver quality nursing and counseling services to study participants enrolled in a wide range of HIV and STI related clinical studies at PHRD
Responsibilities

·         Provide HIV testing and counselling to study participants enrolled in clinical trials
·         Screen and recruit participants into clinical trials
·         Conduct study procedures according to good clinical practice
·         Document medical data in study participants’ records
·         Provide reproductive health services including FP counselling and provision of FP methods to clients
Qualifications
Education and Professional training
·         Diploma in Nursing (KRN/KRCHN)
Licensure
·         Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya
Competencies
·         Team player
·         Excellent Communication and people skills
·         Highly organized
·         Ability to work without supervision
Experience
·         Two (2) years’ experience as a nurse in a busy health facility
·         One (1) year experience working in a busy HIV care clinic
·         Experience providing reproductive health services
·         Prior GCP and Human subjects training is desirable
·         Experience working in clinical research setting is an added advantage
Terms of employment
Employment is a one year renewable contract with a probation period for the first 3 months.
Salary is negotiable within the appropriate grade depending on education, experience and demonstrated competency.

Project Data Officer
Job Purpose
The Project Data Officers will be responsible for data management including data collection, mining, filing, archiving, QA/QC, database updates, reports generation, etc.
Responsibilities
·         Data collection, compilation , cleaning , investigational analysis and processing for entry into databases
·         Designing, improving and updating live databases for long term data storage and back-ups
·         Assisting in data analysis
·         Installing and configuring computer hardware, software systems, networks, printers and scanners
·         Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software
·         Trouble shoots all technology issues including hardware, software and network operating system
·         Preparing daily and weekly reports

·         Scanning and filing of records, archive systems in accordance to department procedures
·         Monitor security of all technology
·         Any other duties assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
Education and Professional training
·         Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and computer science or a related field from a recognized university
·         Training on data analysis (STATA and or R)
Competencies
·         Very Good IT skills including hardware, software and networks
·         Good communication skills.
Experience
·         Experience in data entry/data management
·         Skills in database development
Terms of employment

Purpose

Terms of Engagement
Appointment in the Internship program will be for 6 months. This may be extended for another 6 months depending on performance.
