subsidiary CHS Institute Limited to fill the position HIV
TESTING SERVICES (HTS) COUNSELLOR in Makueni and Machakos county.
Overall Job Summary
Reporting to the Clinical Officer/ site in charge, the HTS
Counsellor will be responsible for the provision of HIV testing, counselling
for key populations, linkage of HIV positive KP to care and treatment. In
addition, s/he will oversee the quality of implementation of HIV testing and
counselling services as well as accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
·
Ensure quality HIV Testing
Services (HTS) are provided as per the National Algorithm.
·
Offer first adherence counselling
services to newly positive clients before referral to care and treatment
·
Ensure monthly forecasting,
quantification and reporting of Rapid Test Kits (RTKs) and HIV self-testing
kits is done according to the guidelines and raise a 1-month early warning
alert for expected RTK shortage.
·
Support and spearhead promotion of
HTS services and innovations aimed at increasing access to HTS service
provision e.g. Assisted partner notification services (aPNS), Social Network
testing
·
Participate in EQA activities
(proficiency testing and observed practice) documented and available at the
facility level
·
Support the M&E framework
(Maintenance of HTS registers, wall charts) to ensure accurate data entry and
timely reporting
·
Promote HTS services among clients
who visit the hotspots and DiCEs by giving health talks and by using IEC
materials
·
Conduct targeted outreaches
·
Any other duties which may be
assigned by the Supervisor from time to time
Qualifications
·
Diploma in relevant Social Sciences,
two-week NASCOP Counselor’s Certificate
·
A degree in public health,
social sciences or related disciplines will be an added advantage
·
Proficiency in computer packages like
MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
·
Data analysis and interpretation
skills
·
Working knowledge of the DHIS2
reporting platform
·
Three years’ experience in HTS in a
busy facility, training in counselling supervision is an added advantage

subsidiary CHS Institute Limited to fill the position of Nurse in Makueni,
Kitui and Machakos.
Overall Job Function
Reporting to the site/clinic coordinator, the holder of the
position will be responsible for the provision of biomedical, behavioural,
structural HIV prevention interventions to Key Populations (KPs) in the DiCE
and during outreaches.
Responsibilities
·
Screening and treatment of sexually
transmitted infections at the DICE and during outreaches
·
Provide family planning services to
beneficiaries in the project including education, counselling and services on
emergency contraception, short-term methods and long-term methods
·
Directly track linkage to post-rape
care for survivors of sexual violence
·
Provide KPs with risk assessment and
risk reduction counselling
·
Condom promotion, demonstration of
correct use and distribution
·
Facilitate health education sessions
to KPs at the DICE and during outreaches
·
Mentor peer educators on providing
health education to KPs on STIs, Family Planning services, Pre-Exposure
Prophylaxis and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
·
Make appropriate referrals for
on-going support and actively track clients on HIV care, treatment and support
services including CCC, PMTCT, TB treatment, home-based care
·
Provide HTS services to clients when
the need arises
·
Collect client data and store
appropriately to ensure confidentiality is maintained
·
Any other duties which may be
assigned by the Supervisor from time to time
Qualifications
·
Diploma in nursing from a recognized
medical training institute, BSc Nursing is an added advantage
·
Registered with Nursing Council of
Kenya with a valid practice license
·
Valid HTS certificate – NASCOP
certified

and treatment at outreach sites is desired.
·
Experience in providing cervical
cancer screening is desired.

Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant

subsidiary CHS Institute Limited to fill the position of Monitoring and
Evaluation Assistant in Makueni, Machakos and Kitui counties.
Overall Job Function
Reporting to Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, the Monitoring
and Evaluation Assistant based at the DiCEs will be tasked to ensure accurate
and complete documentation of registers, data quality audit, regular reporting,
and collection of monthly and quarterly data reports at DiCE level.
Responsibilities
·
Support DiCEs to manage, maintain and
organize client’s medical records
·
Ensure a streamlined appointment
management system
·
Mentor other DiCE healthcare care
workers on documentation, filling of the client’s patient cards and registers,
reporting and basic data analysis.
·
Prepare KP reports and process
through MOH DHIS2, CHS reporting information system (CRIS) and 3PM.
·
Assist in weekly, monthly and
quarterly data collection as per specified KP reporting indicator requirements.
The data is further transferred to a customized data collection tool for
various programmatic areas
·
Conduct data quality audit using
specific data audit tools like paper-based DQA, EMR DQAs, and data variation
analysis tracking logs
·
Support MOH reporting system (DHIS)
through quality audit of KP reports in respective Dices by comparing report
entered with physical report and flag the anomalies.
·
Effectively communicate to KP program
supporting team on matters relating to M&E needs and reporting tools
requirement
·
Report through writing all M&E
activities carried out in the DiCEs and generate a list of action items that
require program interventions and support.
·
Ensure M&E standards operation
procedures (SOPs) are accessible and well maintained.
·
Ensure monthly updates of progress
wallcharts and documenting progress on various quality improvement run charts.
·

Qualifications
·
Diploma in Health Records and
Information or any other related discipline, a bachelor’s degree in health
records information or related fields is an added advantage
·
Training in monitoring and evaluation
will be an added advantage.
·
At least 2 years’ experience in
health records management and data processing.
·
Computer literate; proficiency in the
use Ms-excel, Ms-Access, Ms-Word, Ms-Power-Point
·

Clinical Officer

Makueni and Machakos counties
Overall Job Function
Reporting to the DiCE In Charge the Clinical Officer will work
closely with the DiCE teams and liaise with the CACCs (Constituency AIDS
Coordinators), SCASCOs, relevant facility in charges and other government
officers and stakeholders at the sub-county levels. The Clinical Officer will
be responsible for leading the roving service units, coordination and delivery
of project deliverables at the roving units, DiCE and during outreach sessions.
Responsibilities
·
Provide quality clinical services at
the Outreach and DiCE in accordance with the current clinical practices and
approved national guidelines including screening diagnosis and appropriate
management
·
Provide overall coordination of the
roving service units including supervision of staff and ensure allocated
targets are met
·
Provide coordination of the violence
response teams by working closely with the CACCs, violence response teams and
DiCE staff
·
Ensure provision RH services
including; screening and treatment for STI, cervical cancer screening and
family planning to clients in a KPs friendly environment
·
Mentor and support staff for
effective service delivery
·
Ensure HIV positive KPs are enrolled
for care, initiated on treatment and appropriately followed up for better
treatment outcomes
·
Ensure facilitation of health
education sessions on STIs to the Key Populations and other at-risk populations
·
Ensure a robust supply chain
management system on all KP related and other commodities including safe
custody of the drugs and equipment in the clinic
·
Ensure an effective referral and
linkage system of KPs for various services
·
Advise patients on health maintenance
and disease prevention or provide case management
·
Compile monthly data and appropriate
reports
·
Collect client data and store
appropriately to ensure confidentiality is maintained.
·
Proper storage of client information
to ensure confidentiality is maintained.
·
Document lessons learnt and
challenges to inform program decisions.
Qualifications
·
Diploma in clinical medicine from a
recognized medical training institute.
·
Valid HIV management training
·
Minimum of 3 years’ experience
working in a busy clinic or hospital site

·
Experience in providing screening and
treatment at outreach sites
·
Good oral and written communication
skills (English and Swahili)
·
