Captain/ Pilot


Job Description:
AMREF Flying Doctors is currently recruiting for a Captain to perform as a flight crew on AMREF Flying Doctors’ aircraft and flight missions while observing the highest safety standards and economic operation and management of aircraft as per company policy.

Responsibilities:
·         Act as flight crew member on AMREF Flying Doctors flights which include air medical evacuations,
charter flight and other company flights with the highest of safety standards;
·         Ensuring that AMREF operates and complies with all laws, rules and regulations of all authorities of
each country in which it operates;
·         Assisting the Chief Pilots’ office in matters related to flight operations including record keeping requirements.
·         Performing functional checks or maintenance test flights when and as required
·         Providing assistance to the medical crew during medical interventions as necessary
·         Understanding of KCARS and familiarisation with trend and monitoring systems both within maintenance and Flight operations.
·          And other work related duties as may be required
 Qualifications:
·         Must hold a valid Kenyan ATPL with current instrument rating
·         Minimum of 3,500 hours Total flying experience
·         Minimum of 1,500 hours on turbojet or turbofan aircraft
·          Minimum of 500 hours pilot in command jet time
·          Have a strong understanding of Kenyan Civil Aviation Regulations
·          Must possess a valid passport with Visa restrictions.
·         Added Advantage if you have:
·          Experience flying under EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) standards
·          Current or previous type rating on Cessna Citation aircraft type

Job Description:
This Chief of Staff serves as the strategic advisor and counsel to Group Chief Executive Officer and
will be responsible for the overall coordination, trouble shooting and facilitation of strategy execution. He/she will be responsible for monitoring and reporting specific initiatives / projects in the executive office ensuring consistency with the Group strategy, commitments and goals. He /she will be instrumental in creating and maintaining cross-departmental relationships to enable leadership success.
 Responsibilities:
·         Strategic Partner • Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives and projects of high
importance and guides to completion
·         Provide support in the planning and implementation of initiatives; while facilitating the definition of scope, plans, goals and deliverables
·         Participate as an adjunct member of the Group Leadership Team (GLT) to discuss potential business issues keep track of progress until resolved
·         Assess inquiries directed to the GCEO, determine the proper
course of action and delegates to the appropriate individuals to manage. This includes action list arising from GCEO’s participation
in conferences and meetings with Partners.
·          Meeting preparation and follow up: reviewing upcoming meeting for the coming week to ensure the leader has all of the information needed to be as productive as possible and sending out agendas or
documents to meeting attendees as necessary
·          Lead strategic planning process for the organization
·          Create and update dashboards for reviewing key performance
indicators
·         Advisor • Ensure the GCEO receives adequate information regarding different
issues, for ease of decision making
·         Serve as an ‘honest broker’ by understanding the preferences of the
GCEO and ensuring he receives a full range of perspectives
·          Set a process for monitoring potential risks & developing proactive
policies to mitigate against the risks in question.
·         Communication and Information dissemination
·         Communicates on behalf of the Group CEO with management and staff, on various matters as directed by the GCEO
·         Reviews correspondence and drafts responses for the GCEO as appropriate by fact-checking all communications, editing and proofreading key documents as required
·         Assists in the preparation of documentation for Board Meetings,follows up on correspondence related to the GCEO’s meetings with funders, partners and key staff Research & Reporting
·          Conducts research, prepares analytical reports & assists the GCEO in developing reports, presentations, speeches and publications.
·          Prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the GCEO, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determines appropriate course of action,
referral, or response
·          Identifies and provides information and recommendations to the GCEO on issues and opportunities that could impact the organization’s agenda and the successful execution of the GCEO’s commitments.
·          Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing information.
·         Crisis Management • Develops plans for emergences standard process for managing crisis and works with Group Leadership Team to address the specifics of an emergency
·         Direct Support of GCEO
·          Strategically manages the GCEO’s time: working with Executive assistant, looking at long term travel calendar, evaluating opportunities and determining fit with priorities.

·          Monitors information flow: Sometimes acting as a gatekeeper, ensuring GCEO’s involvement in a project or decision-making process at the right moment.
·         Plans and leads Group Leadership Team retreats, step backs
and other special events
·         Overseeing large often cross functional organisation-wide
projects or initiatives
·         Bring together multiple stakeholders and help drive decisions
·         Researching, benchmarking, analyzing data and making recommendations
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and Masters is an added advantage
• Member of a relevant professional Body
• Over 10 years of experience at management level in a similar organisation
• Proven creative thinker with strong business acumen

Job Description:
To assist the procurement officer with the management of procurement processes of Amref which has the main aim of enhancing the response to the needs of the departments or projects in terms of cost timeliness appropriateness and effectiveness while maintain high standards of integrity and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
·         Coordination of Procurement Processes
·         Receive all incoming requisitions and co-ordinate the flow in an effective and efficient manner using the laid down procedures.
·          Follow up with suppliers on the sourcing process to ensure timely
delivery to end user.
·         Maintain an updated supplier’s database.
·         Prepare LPOs and send them to suppliers
·         Prepare RFQs for PRs raised as required
·         Prepare quotations analysis for quotations received for approval
·         Tender Processes
·         Assist in preparation of tender documents and soliciting of tender/
quotations.
·          Assist in the establishment of appropriate frameworks to enable
improved organizational efficiency
·         Carry out analysis of quotations and prepare relevant reports.
·         Prepare evaluation minutes as assigned and ensure they are  duly signed by the participants
·          Taking of evaluation minutes and tender openings
·         Preparing reports for the Tender Committee Internal and External Relations
·         Assist in fostering good business relationships between suppliers
and internal customers.
·         Answer incoming queries regarding outstanding procurement
requests.
·         Contract Management • Assist in managing contracts with suppliers of goods and services.
·          Assist in risk analysis of contract conditions, costs and sub-contracts.
·          Prepare donor reports on procurement matters
·         Filing and documentation
·          Responsible for filling registry of purchases related documents.
·          Develop various reports as required by the department and users
 Qualifications:
• Degree in Commerce or Business Management – Procurement & Logistics Option
• Diploma in Supplies Management from recognized professional body
• Member of KISM
• Three (3) years’ relevant working experience in purchasing, logistics or supply management
including preparation and management of contracts.
• Experience in using automated procurement systems Strong written, oral and interpersonal
skills
• Values of teamwork, diversity and integrity must also be present
• Analytical and attention to details
• Good coordination, problem solving and networking skills
• ICT proficient
