School Head Teacher
Reporting to the Chief Learning
Officer/Director, the School Head teacher will be responsible for leadership,
supervision and management of the school both at Kindergarten and Primary.
He/she will be responsible for
driving the school growth initiatives and new markets.
He / she should be a highly talented,
result driven, team leader with ability to manage a dynamic professional
expertise and positively engage all stakeholders in line with the KISC Schools’
philosophy & strategic plan.
The candidate must demonstrate ability to drive value addition to students in
talent development, academic performance, Discipline.etc.
He/she will define the
responsibilities and accountability of staff members and oversee and implement
reading and learning.

Key Qualifications and Experience

Holder of degree or Diploma in
Education (P1) or equivalent qualification

Minimum 10 years relevant working
experience in a school set up, 5 years of which should have been in a
leadership position/experience as a Head Teacher.

educational leadership including school administration, classroom instruction,
lesson plans, pupil assessment and staff development.

Responsible for planning, preparing
teaching and learning materials and executing appropriate activities for the
children each day according to the curriculum, schemes of work and lesson
plans.
Key
responsibilities for the role include:

Organizes and provides
developmentally appropriate early childhood education programs; plans and
implement curriculum and education for children ranging in age from two to
Eight years old.
·
Provides activities and opportunities
that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the
developmental levels and learning styles of children.
·
Plan and prepares classroom setting;
oversees safety and educational programs; supervises children in the classroom;
provides a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice
appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors.
·
Interacts with parents and community
groups; maintains open and cooperative communication with parents and families,
encouraging their involvement in the program and supporting the child’s family
relationships.

Writes and compiles individual

Qualifications
required:

At least a B/ED or BSC or BA degree

levels. The applicants handling History, Religious Studies,Geography,
Psychology, English/Literature shall have an added advantage.

School Bus Drivers
Responsible for safely transporting
children to and from school and related events.
Picking up and dropping of
pupils/students at designated locations or private homes.
Responsibilities
·
Transport children from home to
school and back home.
·
Operate the school motor vehicle in a
safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and
procedures
·
Take children for games, trips and
other activities outside the school.
·
Ensuring the bus is always clean.
·
Notify Transport Manager of any
accident/incident, delay, route diversion and riots immediately.
·
Maintenance of the bus including
checking the condition of a vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights,
oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working
order.
·
Comply with traffic regulations to
ensure that the vehicles operate in a safe and courteous manner
·
Report any vehicle malfunctions or
needed repairs to the transport manager.
·
Follow Emergency policy when involved
in emergencies or accident.

Effective verbal and listening

Legal requirements such as licenses, permits or certificates are met and

Responsible for overseeing the day to
day kitchen activities and ensure that the food prepared and served is

Responsible for the general cleaning

Clean building floors by sweeping,
mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.

Emptying waste bins or similar
receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points
·
Dusting, damp wiping, washing or
polishing the furniture, ledges, window sills and external surfaces of
cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments

Replenishing consumable items (soap,
toilet rolls, paper towels) if required

School Counsellor
To provide professional and
confidential counselling services to the KISC pupils/students.
Alongside this the School Counsellor
will provide staff with advice and support and play a significant role in the
pastoral framework of KISC Group of Schools.
He/she will report directly to the
Chief Learning Officer, but work closely with the Heads of Schools.
Main
Duties:
·
Collaboratively develop a
Comprehensive School Counseling Policy with the Heads of Schools
·
Develop and maintain a written plan
for effective delivery of the school counseling program based on best practice
approaches and in line with the school’s ethos.
·
To provide an independent and
confidential counselling service to pupils and staff at Kitengela International
School, through individual sessions, responding to their personal, social,
emotional or educational concerns
·
To promote a caring and supportive
environment where such concerns may be explored, thereby promoting the mental
and emotional health of pupils at KISC
·
To maintain confidentiality (except
in those circumstances, in line with Kitengela Intl’ School practice, where
this should be breached)
·
Accurately and appropriately use
assessment procedures for determining and structuring individual and group
counseling services. Consult the Heads of School if there is the need to invite
an external service provider for the whole school, or for pupils, or for
members of staff.

To make referrals, where appropriate
·
To be alert to trends and patterns of
problems and to be willing to identify causes and recommend corrective action
·
To play an active role in
safeguarding children and adhere fully to the Kitengela Intl’ school policies,

School Matron / Cateress
Responsible for health and
sanitation, catering & boarding and ensuring the welfare of the students is
well maintained according to the KISC Schools’ standards.
Duties
and Responsibilities
·
Oversee food preparation ensuring
good quality & tasty meals at all times that all well planned.
·
To ensure that there is a clean and
pleasant environment in the School throughout which involves line managing and
directing cleaners both inside and outside the school.
·
Plan and prepare the menu making
certain that a balance diet is provided, in liaison with the Head of Kitchen
and Head of School.
·
Be a major source of awareness of
student’s behavior and be ready to alert the Administration regarding areas of
concern.
·
Keep constant communication with the
Head of School about students’ affairs.
·
Maintain close liaison with the
Dispensary at all times concerning students medical provision.
·
Organize and attend to catering
services for KISC Schools’ various events

Monitor the students’ daily routines

Administrative Assistant
Reporting to the School Head teacher,
the administrative assistant will be responsible for managing the day to day
