Internal Auditor
Job Purpose: Responsible for Information Systems Audit and Internal Controls.
Primary Responsibilities

·         Conduct regular internal control assessments of the University’s Information Systems and ICT Infrastructure;
·         Contribute to the development of the annual risk based audit plan and execute audit assignments as per the approved audit work plan;
·         Perform audits of information systems controls including data integrity, backup and disaster recovery, data centre procedures, data communication and access controls, database administration and end user control;
·         Conduct applications systems audits i.e. Microsoft Dynamics Navision and other business systems to determine the completeness and accuracy of transactions that have already been processed and the internal controls therein;
·         Conduct follow up of reviews to ensure implementation of recommendations by the University Council, Audit Risk and Compliance Committee, and External Auditors;
·         Assist in IT and other fraud investigations;
·         Undertake consulting, investigations, governance and risk management assignments as necessary;
·         Preparation of audit reports for effective communication and recommendations to management;
·         Ensure quality assurance to all audit work assigned including working papers as per the standards as well as support the audit findings, recommendations and conclusions;
·         Carry out other responsibilities as may be required by the Head of Internal Audit, Audit Committee or Management.
Qualifications and Experience
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Commerce, Business Information Technology or related area from a recognized university;
·         Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA);
·         Certified Public Accountant Part 2;
·         Proficiency in the use of Computer Aided Audit Techniques;
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Application (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Outlook);
·         Proficiency in Auditing Principles and Techniques;
·         Knowledge in Risk Management Principles and Techniques;
·         At least four (4) years working experience of which at least 2 years should be in performing Information Systems Audits.

Librarian – Kisumu Campus
Job Purpose: To select, organize and disseminate information for the purpose of learning, teaching and research at the Campus.
Primary Responsibilities:
·         Overseeing day to day running of the Campus Library activities including classification, circulation, shelving, issuing, lending and cataloguing books;
·         Recommend the acquisition, processing and circulation of library materials;
·         Plan and manage the library’s physical facilities, e-resources and human resources;
·         Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements;
·         Prepare library budget and manage library resources accordingly;
·         Plan and deliver client centred programs
·         Liaise with University Librarian to implement current ICT resources in the library;
·         Develop and administer library user education and manuals;
·         Partner with other libraries & institutions to improve quality of services;
·         Guide and direct the library’s collection and development to adequately support faculty programs;
·         Implement library policies and procedures and promote security of library materials and equipment;
·         Provide regular inventory reports and advise Campus management on the library’s status;
·         Promote the professional development of library staff;
·         Deliver client-centred programs & customer care services;
·         Disseminate information on the use of library facilities, resources & equipment;
·         Develop risk management framework for the department;
·         Prepare and submit departmental reports as required.
Qualifications and Experience
·         A Bachelor’s Degree (Information / Library Science);
·         Professional Membership of Kenya Library Association;
·         4 to 5 years relevant experience with a least 2 years’ experience at a supervisory level;
·         Knowledge in Integrated Library Information Management system.

Job Objective: To facilitate learning in the University through teaching, administration and academic advisory work and ensure an outstanding student learning experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Teach and facilitate learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through lecturers, seminars, workshops, tutorials and other learning situations as assigned by the HOD from time to time;
·         Participate in the development, administration and marking of exams, assignments and continuous assessments tests;
·         Assist in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance;
·         Provide advice, guidance and feedback to students to support their academic progress and referring student to support services as appropriate;
·         Contribute to the development, planning and implementation of high-quality curriculum;
·         Participate in supervision and assisting of undergraduate and post graduate students in their research work;
·         Carry out research and produce publications, as well as other research outputs, in line with personal objectives agreed in the Faculty Annual Assessment Review (FAAR)
·         Participate in writing of research proposals and applying of research grants;
·         Contribute and participate in the development in the departmental and faculty seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department;
·         Provide pastoral care to students through academic advising and counseling;
·         Contribute to departmental, faculty and/or University wide working groups or committee as, when requested to do so;
·         Undertake continuous professional development and participate in staff development and training activities to update and enhance skills;
·         Maintain proper records of students’ examination, assignments and continuous assessments tests and ensure they are keyed in examination records management system in time;
·         Attend departmental, Faculty and University–wide meetings with other staff members;
Qualifications and Experience
·         Master’s Degree in the following fields
·         Criminology; Criminal Justice; Economics; Film; Performing / Creative Arts; Drama Studies; Journalism / Mass Media; Digital / Mass Communication
·         Pursuing PhD in relevant field or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification will be an added advantage.
·         Three (3) years teaching experience in a recognized university or similar relevant research/industry experience.
·         Be registered or registerable with a relevant professional body.
·         Proficiency in Curriculum Development and delivery.
·         Knowledge of CUE requirements and experience in academic or industry settings.
·         Publications in refereed journals in the relevant field will be an added advantage
·         Proficiency in Blended Learning methodologies of curriculum delivery will be an added advantage.
