Head of Maintenance

Position scope
Reporting to the Group General Manager- Technical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking maintenance and continuous improvement of equipment and plant at KTDA Factories.
Responsibilities
·         Monitoring energy utilization – thermal and electrical to ensure efficient and effective energy use.

·         Overseeing the installation, maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and electrical and mechanical systems.
·         Ensuring all regions have developed and implemented sound and strategic annual maintenance programs.
·         Ensuring technical audits are carried out periodically to establish the actual status of plant and equipment in the factories.
·         Participating in ensuring statutory inspections are carried out as required by proper selection of service providers.
·         Ensuring continuous upgrading of machines and equipment to keep pace with changing technology.
·         Participating in preparation of budget and adherence to approved levels.
·         Ensuring observation and compliance to environmental, health and safety measures and regulations.
·         Conducting training activities for maintenance staff and other personnel as and when required.
·         Developing and implementing schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance program.
·         Conducting monthly inspections in the subsidiaries.
 Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience and competencies: –
·         Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
·         Master’s degree in a business related field;
·         A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, 3 of which should be at a senior management level;
·         Be registered by the Engineering Board;
·         Must have demonstrated ability to handle departmental budgets, resources, processes, projects and relationships;
·         Should have thorough knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector;
·         Must have ability to plan, organize, implement and evaluate departmental goals;
·         Must demonstrate ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines;
·         Should have strong analytical and be result oriented;
·         Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice;
·         Must have management and Leadership skills;
·         Must have ability to accurately plan work assignments, prioritize tasks and deliver deadlines;
·         Should have problem solving and decision making abilities;
·         Should be an effective communicator with the ability to handle both internal and external communication;

Office Services & Property Coordinator
Position scope
Reporting to the Manager, Property, the successful candidate will be responsible for Coordinating office services and property functions.
Responsibilities
·         Carrying out frequent checks of the common facilities in the building including Conference/meeting rooms, stores and kitchens to ensure they are well kept and fit for purpose.
·         Coordinating the use of the Conference Rooms for scheduled meetings and ensuring that resources are provided.
·         Maintaining vendor and property files, including insurance certificates, outsourced contracts drafts, title deeds copies, etc. in accordance with prescribed standards.
·         Opening work orders, coordinating and monitoring status of work assigned to vendors.
·         Preparing land transaction and registration documents in liaison with legal department.
·         Ensuring that all property documentation records are well maintained, and liaising with the relevant National and County government authorities to regularize any changes.
·         Liaising with the Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator to ensure that the building inspection reports and certificates are obtained and filed accordingly.
·         Attending court cases on land matters from time to time in liaison with legal department.
·         Ensuring timely processing of Administration related service providers’ invoices for payment.
·         Preparing the budget drafts for administration department
·         Facilitating exemption from Stamp Duty for land transactions for KTDA and Her Factory Companies.
·         Facilitating issuance of work permits for foreigners who may be employed by the organization.
·         Ensuring that contracts for the service providers are up to date/ valid, and notifying management on expiry/renewal dates.
·         Ensuring that all Governments Statutory Demand Notes are paid on time.
·         Assisting the Head of Department in the management of KTDA Farmers Company.
 Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Property Management or Business Management related field.
·         Minimum of four (4) years experience in a similar role
·         Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
·         Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice.
·         Must demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
·         Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams.
·         Must demonstrate ability to multi-task.

Assistant Electrical Engineer

Position scope
Reporting to the Electrical Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical engineering maintenance services to KTDA Factories.
Responsibilities
·         Overseeing new electrical installation for KTDA Factories by managing suppliers to ensure high standards of installed materials and workmanship;
·         Monitoring electrical energy usage for purpose of advising factories on prudent electrical energy management;
·         Liaising with KPLC on matters of electrical supply and maintenance;
·         Assisting factories in electrical maintenance;
·         Participating in the development or testing of electrical aspects of new technologies;
·         Assisting Factories to develop adequate and competent electrical maintenance staff;
·         Supporting electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems;
·         Preparing periodic reports;
·         Performing any other relevant duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –
·         Higher National Diploma in Electrical A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is an added advantage.
·         A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience;
·         Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice;
·         Must demonstrate ability to execute work assigned with minimum supervision.
·         Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams;
·         Must demonstrate ability to multitask;
·         Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant knowledge;
