The International Centre for
Reproductive Health – Kenya (ICRHK) works in the area of sexual and
reproductive health research and program implementation including sexual and
gender based violence.
The sexual violence against children
measurement study (SVaC study) is a cross-sectional study to measure the
baseline prevalence of sexual violence among school-going children and the
community attitudes and views about sexual violence in four counties in Kenya.
We are looking for research assistants for the
SVAC study who will be responsible for baseline and end line data collection
for the study.
The successful candidates will be
highly motivated individuals with expertise and experience in data collection.
Required qualifications:
·
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in
social science or related discipline.
·
2 year practical experience in the
collection and analysis of quantitative data
·
Knowledge of ethical issues relating
to the conduct of research on human subjects.
·
Strong attention to detail and
writing skills that should include the ability to develop comprehensive field
notes for qualitative analysis.
·
High level interpersonal skills and
the ability to build rapport with the study populations.
·
Excellent verbal, written and visual
communication skills.
Skills/Abilities/ Competencies
·
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
(Word, Access, Outlook, and Excel).
·
Sound understanding of issues
relating to sexual and gender-based violence
·
The candidate must possess the
ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and open minded.
·
Immediate availability is an added
advantage.
This is a short contract job.
Research assistants will be engaged
during training and data collection for baseline and end-line surveys.
The positions entail up to 50% travel
within Kilifi, Kwale, Kisumu and Homa Bay Counties.
