Advertisement for Vacant Positions
The County Government of Nyeri wishes
to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant
positions in the County Public Service Board:
a. Chairperson – 1 Post
b. Board Member – 3 Posts
c. Secretary – 1 Post
Remuneration and benefits: As per SRC
guidelines.
Terms of service: 6 years contract
(non-renewable)
Chairperson – County Public Service Board
1 Post
Requirements for appointment
(i) Be a Kenyan citizen;
(ii) Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) Should not be a serving public or state officer:
(iv) Working experience of not less than ten (10) years; and
(v) Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution:
(vi) Experience at senior management level or previous Board membership will be an added advantage.
(ii) Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) Should not be a serving public or state officer:
(iv) Working experience of not less than ten (10) years; and
(v) Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution:
(vi) Experience at senior management level or previous Board membership will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Chairing Board meetings;
(ii) Ensuring the Board functions effectively;
(iii) Establishing agenda for Board meetings in consultation with the Board Secretary;
(iv) Ensuring implementation of Board decisions;
(v) Be the spokesperson for the Board;
(vi) Duties as stipulated in the County Governments Act;
(vii) Any other duty as may be assigned by the Board.

(v) Be a professional, and demonstrate absence of breach of the relevant professional code of conduct; and
(vi) Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
(vii) Experience at senior management level or previous Board membership will be an added advantage.
(ii) Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) Working experience of not less than five (5) years;

(iv) Working experience of not less than ten (10) years; and
(v) Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Secretary to the Board is the
link between the Board and the Secretariat and is charged with the following
duties and responsibilities:
(i) Be the CEO and the Accounting
Officer to the Secretariat
(ii) Preparing and circulating minutes and agenda for Board meetings
(iii) Developing annual budgets and work plan for the Board;
(iv) Providing technical support to the Board;
(v) Conveying Board decisions: and
(vi) Any other duties that may be assigned by the Board.
