Responsible for performing the tasks
required to install, repair, modify, overhaul, diagnose, test, and maintain the
Hotel vehicles, Segway’s and Golf carts.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance
Engineer, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not
limited to the following:
·
Consistently offers professional,
engaging and friendly service
·
Inspecting and testing vehicles, golf
carts and Segway’s; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups,
oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
·
Maintains vehicles, Segway’s and golf
carts functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting
inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical
systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
·
Verifies vehicles serviceability by
conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
·
Complies with state vehicle
requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
·
Maintains vehicle, Segway’s and golf
carts appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
·
Maintains vehicles, Segway’s and golf
carts records by recording service and repairs.
·
Keeps shop equipment operating by
following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining
supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
·
Contains costs by using warranty;
evaluating service and parts options.
·
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying
stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
·
Accomplishes maintenance and
organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Qualifications
·
Previous experience is an asset
·
Minimum of Mechanical Engineering
diploma from a recognized institution.
·
Considerable knowledge of mechanical
tools, equipment, materials and practices.
·
Knowledge of theory and principles of
mechanical engineering.

Repair and maintain all types of
coverings, – e.g. paint, wallpaper, polish, varnish etc.
·
Repair and maintain decorative
finishes.
·
Repair and maintain
furniture/finishes/coverings.
·
Co-ordinate the repair and
maintenance of large painted areas.
·
Ensure that all the paint work in the
building is up to standards.
·
Regular maintenance of rooms and
public areas.
·
Supervision & inspection of all
works done by contractors that pertains painting.
·
Ensuring that set procedures are
adhered to
·
Ensuring that there is enough paint
in the store.
·
Placing orders of materials required.
·
Observing working time as required to
avoid wastage.
·
Maintain and conform to Room Perfect
Program and ensuring no repeat jobs.
·
Monitor and control supplies and
minimize waste.
·
Ensuring that materials are used as
per specifications.
·
Ensures Purchase Requests raised has
enough and detailed specifications to ensure high good quality paints and
polishing materials are sourced.
·
Maintain the cleanliness of the
area worked and own workshops
·
Observe general neatness and
cleanliness at all times
·
Clear all dirt debris and paint tins
after completing the works
·
To perform other task, including
cross exposure, as directed, or multi-skill in any other section.
·
Perform other duties requested by the
Chief Engineer, Technical Services Manager or the Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications
·
Previous experience is an asset
·
KCSE Certificate.
·
Painter Govt. Trade Test 111.
Government Trade Test Three (3)

limited to the following:

Install, repair and maintain all
plumbing and related items E.g. baths, showers, toilets, pipe works, fitting
valves etc.
·
Install, repair and maintain all
mechanical plant, boilers, heaters etc.
·
Maintain all chemical treatments,
daily readings and logs for it.
·
Co-ordinate the repairing and
maintaining of drainage, pipe work and system large repairs.
·
Manufacture new items in metal or
related materials as assigned by Technical Services Manager, including pipe
work etc. and occasional brazing/welding.
·
Read/make drawings/sketches of
mechanical installations.
·
To ensure proper functioning of all
mechanical equipment appliances and installation.
·
Observing all periodic preventive
maintenance on all equipments in the kitchen and Laundry ( Gas cookers, Mixers,
Dish washing machine , presses, washing machines etc) as assigned by the
supervisor or the Engineer.
·
Carries out repair works on all
mechanical equipments and appliances.
·
Handles all Maintenance requests
requiring mechanical expertise.
·
Carries out repair and maintenance of
all plumbing fittings and installations within the building.
·
Carries out any minor mechanical
installation, welding brazing and fabrication works within the Hotel.
·
To have fully working knowledge of
all systems within the hotel that fall under his/her responsibility.
·
Maintain and conform to Room Perfect
Program.
·
Makes sure assignments are accurately
and professionally done first time.
·
Ensures that Purchase requests form
raised has detailed specifications on part/product required.
·
Drives implementation of energy and
cost cutting measures.
·
Works accurately and professionally
to avert repeat jobs.
·
Adheres to preventive maintenance
schedule to avoid major breakdowns.

are not limited to the following:

Ensuring that the Hotel’s
Environmental Policies are adhered to appropriately.

Maintaining and Mowing of lawn and grass
areas to the highest standards.

Assisting with all gardening work as

Application of fertilizer and

the Landscaping Manager.

Assisting in the welfare and well
being of Animals and Birds.

necessary to enhance the efficient operations of the Grounds department and the
hotel.
