Summary
To Ensure the effective financial and accounting affairs of the Institute as set out in various regulatory laws; maintenance of proper books of accounts; keep custody of accountable documents; Preparing periodic management and annual financial accounting reports; undertake cash and bank management activities; project finances management; the account for special funds set up under various statutes; manage accounting information,

Responsibilities
·         Preparing proper books of accounts and records;
·         Preparing periodic accounting reports;
·         Maintaining accurate accounting records of project activities;
·         Supporting in preparing annual budget estimates for the Institute;
·         Participating in coordination of internal and external audits;
·         Supervising management of petty Cash;
·         Ensuring maintenance of accurate accounting general ledgers;
·         Processing payment requisitions and process payroll payments;
·         Ensuring accurate posting of accounting transactions in the accounting system;
·         Processing requests for bank transfers;
·         Ensuring receipt of incoming funds;
·         Verify Preparation of payments to statutory accounts such as PAYE, NHIF, NSSF and HELB;
·         Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls and procedures;
·         Participating in preparation of financial statements;
·         Preparing monthly bank reconciliation reports and Ensuring accurate cashbook postings;
·         Participating in preparing investment records and documents;
·         Implementing the financial controls Established by the Institute;
·         Keeping custody of assigned accountable documents;
·         Preparing periodic accounting and financial reports;
·         Undertaking cash and bank management activities;
·         Implementing project and donor finances management activities;
·         Examining and verifying vouchers;
·         Balancing of cash book and advances ledgers; and
·         Receiving and processing invoices and claims and ensuring completeness
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
·         Master’s degree in accounting or related field or CPA (K)
·         Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
·         Active ICPAK membership
·         Knowledge of computerized accounting packages
