Program Design Internship

The Program Design department’s vision is to provide strategic direction and annual planning for core activities, driving towards the achievement of the Kenya program’s ambitious scale and impact goals.
 Responsibilities
o    Own selected initiatives from Repayment project pipeline
o    Testing the efficacy of/updating select Repayment tools and recommendations on how the tools could be improved further

o    Conversion of select Repayment materials for Tablet use
o    Explore additional Telerivet (2-way SMS messaging) functions for Repayment
o    Other activities as assigned by Manager

Qualifications
We are seeking an exceptional, early career professional with 0-1 years of experience. Candidates fitting the following profile are strongly encouraged to apply:
o    Citizenship in Kenya – you will be asked to submit a copy of your passport biodata page or your national ID card
o    Exceptional recent college graduates or young professionals. Individuals who hold a Bachelor’s degree as of June 2019 are eligible for One Acre Fund internships/fellowships
o    Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google suite (Calendar, sheets, docs etc).
o    Analytical background and understanding of statistical methods, including use of R or STATA strongly preferred
o    Ability to coordinate across different teams and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
o    Experience in project management and developing media content (e.g. photography, creation and editing of videos etc for Tablet use) preferred
o    Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills – writing sample may be requested
o    Demonstrated leadership experience at work and outside work
o    Highly motivated, enthusiastic attitude and creative problem-solver
o    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

ITO Tablet Coordinator
The Tablet Coordinator will be central to the organizational shift from the traditional paper contract enrollment system to the Mobile Enrollment system. He/She will be the primary contact with the Field Team and other departments to ensure timely and efficient set up of 2000+ mobile devices to be used by Field Officers during enrollment.
Responsibilities
Tablet Support
o    Primary contact for Mobile/Tablet issues. Both hardware and software issues.
o    Program Innovations and Field Operation’s first point of escalation for mobile/tablet support issues.
o    Test and implement mobile/tablet setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance standards for use in the organization.
o    Test and implement mobile/tablet management for the organization.
o    Test and implement mobile/tablet inventory management techniques for the organization.
o    Test and implement the mobile/tablet enrollment procedure to enable tablet enrollment.
o    Android configuration – User, Admin, security
o    Knowledge of Google products. Particularly G-Suite and Google Play store
Act as a department liaison
o    Work closely with Mobile Team Lead to plan and coordinate Mobile/tablet Setup and configuration activities.
o    Heavy coordination with Program Innovations and Field Operations staff on matters regarding usability, features, issues and feedback.
o    Heavy coordination with Development/IT Development regarding feature/function changes, streamlining device setup.
o    Coordinating with Program Innovations, Development, Field Operations, Procurement, and other departments regarding mobile/tablet purchase, setup, configuration, and maintenance.
o    Manage/coordinate mobile/tablet hardware/software requests from other departments.
Documentation and reporting
o    Follow and write mobile support documentation i.e. processes (setup, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance).
o    Keep track of problems and repairs-log all tasks performed and provide for check-ins.
o    Daily interface with the Mobile Device Management team for reporting and identification of issues.
o    Compile weekly reports as determined by the Mobile Team Lead and program needs.
Frequent field visits to test, observe, implement, critique and build experience with mobile tools.
Liaison between Mobile Team Lead and OAF staff

Qualifications
Specific qualifications include, but are not limited to:
o    Bachelor’s Degree in the IT field preferred.
o    1-2 years experience in a busy IT environment.

Financial Advisory Services Internship
The Finance Advisory Services (FAS) team – akin to a country CFOs – leads our strategic finance strategy and provides an analytical perspective on all major decisions (enrollment, pricing, incentives, org-structure, etc).  This consulting team provides concise, actionable advice around how to best achieve the country’s scale and impact goals in the most financially efficient way. The FAS goal is complete financial sustainability.
The FAS team is looking for an intern to support with conducting monthly Budget Variance Analysis and suggest cost efficiencies. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o    Support with conducting monthly Budget Variance Analysis by working with department heads to analyse their BVA’s and provide recommendations.
o    Dive into the Field Operation’s department cost efficiencies and suggest improvements.
o    Working with the team in isolating and tracking restricted donoe money spending.
