Food for the Hungry – Kenya a Christian relief and development agency seeks to fill the following vacant position:

Job Title: Driver

Reports To: Logistics Manager
Contract Period: One year (renewable)

Position in the Organization: The Drivers report hierarchically to Logistics Manager.
Purpose of the Job: To facilitate transportation of staff to various destinations, ensuring vehicles are well maintained at all times and to exercise caution on the roads for safe trips
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Key result # 1 – Transportation of staff / donors / or other visitors
1. Facilitate transportation of staff and other visitors to various destinations as requested.
2. Drive carefully at all times and ensure safety of the passengers, other road users as well as the vehicle.
3. Undertake other errands as directed e.g paying bills, transporting purchased office supplies e.t.c
Key result # 2 – Vehicle check / maintenance
1. Ensure insurance covers and road licenses and inspection certificates are up to date.
2. Ensure cleanliness of the assigned vehicle at all times and that the vehicle is in good condition before use.
3. Carry out periodic checks on the assigned vehicles to determine maintenance needs and report accordingly
4. Ensure inventory of the vehicle items daily e.g. tools, jack, first aid kit, spare tyre,
5. Maintain a well updated and fully authorized vehicle log sheet and submit to Finance department as required.
Qualifications
·         Vibrant personal relationship with Christ
·         Ability to work for long hours
·         Warm person who is able to relate well with others
·         Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance will be an added advantage.
Education and Experience
Form 4 certificate with a minimum of C and a valid accident free driving license classes BCE, plus 5 years’ experience in a similar position. Knowledge of the local language is a must.
Language Skills
Proficiency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili.

Job Title: Logistic Officer
Location: Marsabit
Reports To: Logistics Manager
Contract Period: One year (renewable)

Together we follow God’s call responding to human suffering and graduating communities from extreme poverty.
Position in the Organisation: The Logistics Officer reports directly to the Logistics Manager.
Purpose of the Job: To represent the logistics function at the field level, procure materials like project items, office supplies, equipment etc, at the field level and assist in logistic processes and related procedures in Marsabit Sub Office.

Duties and Responsibilities
Key Result # 1 – Purchase and distribution of materials
1. Receive purchase Requisitions from staff, get quotations for items from suppliers based on the expenditure levels and purchase the required items as per set policies.
2. Log all requisition orders in the order tracking sheet and submit to the Logistics Manager as required.
3. Oversee the movement of procured goods to the warehouse in line with set guidelines.
4. Initiates payments for the supplies/materials/ items received and prepares GRN’s to be signed by receiving programs.
5. Maintain a list of all FH approved suppliers within Marsabit
Key Result # 2 – Logistic related duties
1. Coordinate and arrange for warehouse transportation of food or other materials to different destinations from Marsabit.
2. Coordinate receiving of parcels and mail via MAF (flights) to and from Nairobi office and distribute the same to staff appropriately.
3. Maintain an inventory of all FH Office assets and equipment and ensure each is properly labeled both soft copy and at the Inventory book.
4. Maintain an effective fleet data that will generate a monthly fleet report on fuel, repair and maintenance ant etc.
Qualifications

·         Knowledgeable in procurement regulations
·         A team player, creative, innovative and a good negotiator.
·         Ability to learn new concepts and ideas, adaptable
·         Strong working knowledge of computers and MS Office Suite
Education and Experience:
·         Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management or related courses from a recognized training institution.
·         Should be a member of CIPS or KISM
·         Should have at least two years’ experience in a similar or comparable position.
Language Skills
·         Proficiency in spoken and written English.
