Yakuti is a faith-based magazine that
seeks to inspire the African woman with wholesome content. We are seeking an
all-purpose editor to assist in managing our growing, newsroom. In addition to
feature editing, the editor would develop compelling articles that reflect the
company’s culture, drive engagement, inspire, and inform.

The Editor’s role involves:
·
Assigning and editing articles across
print and digital platforms;
·
Maintaining cordial relationships
with the team and with suppliers, including freelancers;
·
Sourcing for interview subjects and
issue content;
·
Conducting interviews and writing
feature articles;
·
Facilitating regular brainstorm
meetings with the team to drive content ideas;
·
Leading efforts, including research,
recommendations and improvements, to refresh the magazine’s content;
·
Representing Yakuti Magazine at
events as required;
·
Any related editorial duties.
The qualifying candidate:
·
Has a Bachelor’s Degree in
Communication(s), Journalism, or any other related field (highly preferred, but
not mandatory);
·
Is fluent in at least British, but
preferably also American English;
·
Has at least two years’ experience
writing or editing regular content;
·
Is an exceptional writer and editor;
·
Can edit lengthy articles under
strict deadlines for both web and print;
·
Understands print and online
editorial conventions;
·
Is proficient in digital publications
and content managing platforms, including SEO best practices and social media;
·
Has strong PC skills, including Word
and Excel, with additional Mac skills preferred;
·
Is confident and has a sense of
humor;
·
Can work well under pressure, meeting
strict print and digital deadlines.
Supervision: This position receives direction from the Editor-In-Chief.
Job Title: Circulation Manager

wholesome content. We are seeking a circulation manager to assist in getting
the magazine to our desired audience as efficiently as possible.

The Circulation Manager’s role includes:
·
Continued implementation and
monitoring of current circulation plan;
·
Reviewing mailing and subscription
lists;
·
Analyzing customer responses and
subsequently adjusting circulation strategies;
·
Negotiating distribution terms with
distributors;
·
Identifying potential subscriber,
distributor and sales opportunities;
·
Providing timely responses to
customer queries or swiftly referring customers to appropriate team members;
·
Creating promotional inserts to
encourage subscription;
·
Performing field audits at designated
distribution points;
·
Preparing weekly sales and field
audit reports for management;
·
Supporting marketing initiatives,
including promotion and email offers;
·
Assisting in circulation budget
preparation and expense management activities for cost-effective efficiency;
·
Developing strategies to meet revenue
goals;
·
Liaising with printers, as required,
to ensure timely publication;
·
Working with domestic and overseas
fulfillment services.
The qualifying candidate will possess:
·
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in
circulation at an African publication;
·
A minimum of 5 years’ experience
negotating contracts;
·
Strong PC skills, including Word and
Excel;

Job Title: Digital & Print Sales Officer II

wholesome content. In order to ensure we get our magazine out to as many women
as possible, we are currently recruiting a Digital and Print Sales Officer
(DiPS) II.
In
addition to feature editing, the editor would develop compelling articles that
reflect the company’s culture, drives engagement, inspires and informs.

The DiPS Officer II role involves:
·
Reviewing and improving current
advertising strategies;
·
Creating and establishing new
advertising strategies to foster long-term relationships and drive revenue;
·
Managing and refreshing relationships
with current and former advertising clients, respectively;
·
Meeting or exceeding revenue quotas
and targets;
·
Developing advertising sales
relationships with prospective advertising accounts in accordance with company
policy;
·
Selling website, digital magazine and
print magazine advertising space;
·
Identifying locations, industry
events and trade shows attended by prospective clients, and performing
in-person presentations at these locations/events/shows;
·
Communicating professionally,
efficiently, and effectively with client accounts in a variety of settings,
including on the telephone, through electronic communication and in-person;
·
Providing weekly sales reports and
analyses for each assigned project.
The qualifying candidate:
·
Has a proven, successful, verifiable
track record in advertising sales;
·
Has strong PC skills;
·
Is a proactive, confident, energetic
self-starter;
·
Has a strong work ethic and can
provide a high level of customer service;
·
Is well-organized and able to manage
several relationships with clients;
·
Is ready and willing to be
accountable at all times.
